| | I've actually got the tracks for this album stored away on one of my external hard-drives. A friend asked me to put it onto CD for him. He provided me with a British copy of the album.
Gotta say I much prefer the Ray Charles 1968 version of B3, 'Till I Can't Take It Anymore" to Charlie's version! Charlie's isn't bad, but Ray's is much better! |

| | Thanks chaps.
It appears things move fast on the internet, just done another search and found CDs with it on I couldn't previously find.
Now I'm in two minds as to whether to get the CD just for the track itself, or store the UK 7" away in my brain as my great white wale... something to dig for in the charities and boot fairs!
I was over the moon when I found Forrest: Rock the boat a week or two back (Nearly did a little dance in the shop!), and I'd feel just as happy to find this now I know...
...it's out there... somewhere. |

| | "I'll wake you up..." made no. 3 on the US Pop charts in 1979, and he had a couple more make the top 40 in 1980-81, but then he pretty much didn't do anything for about 10 years.
He made one LP for Electra around 1990 or so, but that was his last album. He died in 1995
FWIW, back in the early 70's, when I was dating my wife, "Behind closed doors" was sort of "our song" :-)
P.S., Neil, "Rolling WIth The Flow" went to Number ONE on The Billboard Hot 100 in the US. I guess they just don't appreciate good country music in Oz <GD&R> |

| | Found a sold listing for the UK single that's listed on Cat (Quite cheap), and went to the UK charts website, and it appears it did not chart at all... most likely a very rare record then.

| | Hi, Fixbutte! "I'll Wake You Up When I Get Home" may well be his last charting single, but in which market are we talking about? Here in Australia his record "Rolling With The Flow" got some radio exposure in 1977, but alas no chart activity, not in New South Wales at any case. Pity! It was a good record. |

| | Very easy, see Wikipedia:
One song Charlie Rich performed in the film, "I'll Wake You Up When I Get Home", hit number three on the charts in 1979 and was Rich's last Top Ten single.
The mentioned charts are the US (Billboard) country charts, and the record's there on 45cat.
Comment on YouTube: "Don't think it was ever on any album..." |

| | I wonder if you can help RC?
...been looking for that Charlie rich song that was in the Clint Eastwood film Every Which Way But Loose for some time now, and though I've come across a few of his albums, can't seem to find that track.
It's something like: I'll wake You Up when I Get Home, I think.
Anyone could direct me to it would be appreciated. thanks. |
