| | For my money, easily the best of the Reggae budget albums (the MFP set of Kong productions is a different affair in that it was essentially a compilation of Jamaican 45s and not, as is usual with these things, UK recorded).
If this had been issued on Trojan or Torpedo it'd be worth £XXXs. As compilations of UK Reggae 'Boss Sounds' goes, it's still a giveaway. The only downside with it for me is that, like most budget labels' output, it's in stereo, although certainly not the worst I've heard. I always think Reggae sounds best in good old mono. |

| | You're very welcome grant.
Some collectors are calling this album the 'Unreleased Torpedo LP' as all tracks were recorded at the same sessions as the Hot Rod All Stars' Torpedo 45's
Torpedo 16 Sad Girl is 'Sad World' (track B2) and 'Return To Me' (B4) is 'Welcome You Back Home' also Torpedo 16 |

| | Thank you so much for the info. I picked this album yesterday in very good condition from a charity shop for a nothing 49p . I hadn't heard of Dave Smith and the Pylots, so I did not know what to expect. All I can say I was blown away with what a great album it is and was surprised I could not find more about the artist till discovered your review . So again thank you again.. |

| | A Larry Lawrence production.
UK Reggae actually featuring The Cimarons/Hot Rod All Stars on the rhythm tracks.
Vocals by Errol English and Eugene Paul on some of the tracks.
A Couple of the tracks were released as 45s on Eddy Grant's UK Torpedo label.
A2 and A3 are great Skinhead instrumental fare.
Re-released on 'Boulevard' in 1973 |
