Magic Marmalade 2nd Jul 2015		Just checked my inner sleeve for this, and it is dated November 1982. Too much of coincidence, since I initially couldn't be sure if it was the first of 1983, or the last of 1982. Especially as we know Fame issued from March or April to November every year. So I'd say that was a set of facts that confidently corroborate each other.

PhilMH SUBS 13th Jun 2015		MUSIC MASTER says January 1983. Have to say that the wording of "Original Sound Recordings made by ABC Records, Inc." seems a bit odd, as that company had ceased to exist in 1979 when MCA bought it - I would have thought that something like "Original Sound Recordings owned by MCA Records, Inc." would be more legally correct (but I'm not a lawyer, so...)



Magic Marmalade 12th Jun 2015		It's definitely around that date... just had a look at the rest of the Fame discography on this site, and the next cat number in the sequence is dated Jan 1983, which is a bit of a bugger, as there's a gap to the next cat number prior to that, which is dated November 1982.... so I just can't say if it's 1982 or 83 for certain yet.



TopPopper 12th Jun 2015		Woolies used to do this - I've seen these stickers before. I can only assume it's the date the record was delivered to the store - I don't think they put them on at the time of sale. Either way, it tells us the release must be prior to that date. How long prior is another matter, but logically it was probably not that long before.



Magic Marmalade 12th Jun 2015		Discogs lists the date of this as unknown, as with a lot of these Fame reissues.... but I found a Woolworths store sticker on the inside of the sleeve while recording earlier (Never knew it was there!), which I'm wondering if it could be used to date this? The store number is written in Biro, but the date is stamped in red ink as:26th March 1983. (If so, it could be a useful tool in dating - or at least narrowing the date range - of such releases for which such info is missing - so might be worth looking inside sleeves for store stickers)
