This is looking like the end of 1985 (November), or January 1986.
Should be Vanilla grid labels (light brown with red grid) for this initial date, but have yet to determine the date of the Yellow grid labels I uploaded (but logically they must date after these first labels - so at earliest sometime 86).
Just remembered, there's no point checking the inner on this, as it doesn't just reproduce the original inner sleeve... it is original inner sleeve stock!
Couple more points to add about this, over and above that mentioned in notes:
There are at least two varieties of Fame label... These Yellow ones, and some later(?) light brown ones.
Both varieties have an incomplete album title on the labels, stating simply:
"A Collection of Dance Songs" (Omitting the "Great").
(The sleeve and spine do not make this mistake, and the original issue does not have the album title on the labels anyway).
Secondly, the Fame issue does away with the SHVL 822 Cat# and OC number above the track listing on the rear cover.
The vinyl is essentially the same press as the original issue (In the case of mine anyway), as the vinyl quality is exactly the same (weight etc.), and uses the Original matrix numbers. But whereas my original issue has an A side matrix: SHVL 822 A-1, this Fame issue has: SHVL 822 A- 2U. So essentially just one (Or two presses later, depending on the significance of the: "U" appended.
It would be interesting to see what the brown label matrices are in determining chronology.
(I'll have to forgo uploading inner sleeve scans for now, as Windows 8.1 is having a fit today regarding images... poxy thing!)
