Added 80s Reissue labels. Similar to kabs but with the Gema/Biem. I tend to stay out of the WEA Germany? Euro? UK? debate cos it annoys me. Added them here cos we have a Euro ELK 42 080 already. Funnily in the deadwax there's R/S Alsdorf 42080 but hand etched in the other side: 'UK' so maybe they pressed some with the Elektra Cat# and some with the Kinney# and sent them over. My sleeve also has 'The Doors' in white instead of Red. In reality, both mine and kabs are Euro pressings but until someone adds the original UK edition...
Actually, slight correction - it looks like UK Elektra via Polydor used the US numbers before about early 1970, and a couple of sources indicate that the original UK catalogue number was EKS 75007.
Hi Janie, 1971 would be the earliest for a UK release with a K number, because Elektra was distributed by Polydor and so had 7-digit catalogue numbers up until at least the end of 1970, and then moved to Kinney, which became WEA in 1973.
Something wrong here.....
The bit in the blue box on the back states (p) & (c) 1973.... it is the same as on my linked European one, which has 80s labels, different from these, which are also from the 80s, I believe (3 language rim text). The front and inside cover nearly always look the same, differences in group name at front, this orange one, white with red dots on my afore-mentioned one, perhaps others. UK 1970 release had cat# EKS 75007, btw, the one in brackets on the cover of these.
