Just remembered my old issues of Melody Maker - issue dated December 20, 1975 has a full-page ad for this, with this catalogue number, placed by EMI & Elektra, so definitely a 1975 release, we now just need the date code from the back cover to confirm the month.
The EMI Records Ltd company credit on the back cover and label circumference means that this is much earlier than November 1976, and probably should be November 1975. Elektra changed its UK distribution from WEA to EMI in 1973 following David Geffen's elevation to presidency of the combined Elektra/Asylum/Nonesuch Records, EMI being Asylum's UK distributor at that point; that arrangement lasted until the beginning of 1976 when both Elektra and Asylum moved back to the WEA fold. It looks like there's a 4-digit date code in the bottom right-corner of the back cover, but I can't make it out here, nor on the Discogs entry.
under the track titles-listing across the top of the back cover is stated "volume one": "lpcat" doesn't - yet - have images of all of the different countries' versions of the album - is this present on all of the printed lp sleeves?
