Revisiting my previous comment about the matrix numbers - there are two Queen albums (SHEER HEART ATTACK and A NIGHT AT THE OPERA) either side of this album in the Oz Elektra discography on this site, and the matrix numbers for this LP sits in between the matrices for those two, so I would say that "I've Got to Have You" was always part of the Australian release. Wasn't so hard after all!
further re: B6 I've Got To Have You
The track does not appear on the side 2 label.
It is only mentioned on the back cover, and on the inner sleeve, but with the side one tracks, and without lyrics.
Thanks Phil, yeah I thought the label fitted the date but the US and UK versions don't have that song on them. "I've Got To Have You" was however released in 1971 so it wasn't the case of adding a current chart hit as it often is in these cases. Discogs, of course, doesn't list this track as they've cut and pasted from the US original which is what they seem to do in a lot of cases and just added the Australian cat#.
I'm not bothering to get technical about tracking things down here. This one's in the scan and sell, give away, swap or send to the Op shop box. Only about 15 of these to go then back to stuff I actually like. Yehoo!
Probably always this way, Lee, as that song was a Top 10 hit in Oz. I don't have an easy way to confirm it, though - the hard way would be to confirm the MX matrix numbers against other CBS pressings for CBS, Epic, Warner Bros., Reprise, Elektra and Atlantic from 1975 and see if any of them are close by.
This Australian release has an extra song B6 I've Got To Have You compared to most other releases of this album. Not sure if it was added as an extra after the original 1975 release date and therefore there are two versions or if it always was this way with this release.
