I've also noticed the Stereo album take of "I Am A Rock" is not the same take as on the original Mono 45 RPM hit version, but that's a whole other conversation... ☺

@edlongus I heard the "hum" in the intro and its on my copy of the Greatest Hits LP-the mono/stereo hybrid. I think its more noticeable on the 45 version. Also the vibes in the instrumental break really pop on the mono version.

thewillismon, when u were listening 2/timing your copy, which copy did u have (do u remember)?!? Just curious, because I have the "Bridge Over Troubled Water" album in the "Collected Works" box set, and it's all Stereo in that set. I also noticed that the Mono mix has someone humming at the beginning, after the maracas start shaking but before the lead vocals start. That humming isn't in the full Stereo versions I have heard. U can hear the humming on the direct play video below.

"American Bandstand" remastered Stereo audio:

Wiki states: Some pressings use the single mix from 1970; reissues use a hybrid of the single and the album version from Bridge Over Troubled Water.
That's interesting, I wasn't aware of such an animal!

As BEATLEJOHN mentioned, "Cecilia" starts in Mono and after the instrumental break burst into Stereo, but it's the best sounding mix (in my opinion) because the rhythm section sounds like stomping instead of just drums!! It's thunderous!! It sounds a whole lot better than the pristine, weak mix on the "Bridge Over Troubled Water" Quadraphonic album (and I own a 2nd Yugoslavia Quadraphonic copy also).

Here's the Mono/Stereo version:

Shrink wrap sticker scan added. My copy is the PC 31350, though the shrink wrap sticker says KC 31350.

The label on my LP shows track A1 "Mrs. Robinson" time of 4:02, but it actually plays at 3:51

Santa Maria apparently used Pitman's label fonts and layout as seen on {Images #1411158 & 1411161}. Why Terre Haute went its own way is perhaps one of those unanswerables.

Added second KC 31350 label example from Santa Maria, CA. Layout appears to use same as the Pitman, NJ one referenced earlier by W.B.lbl.

Strangely, every copy of this (and even into the various CD re-issues) have a mono "Cecilia" that expands into stereo on the line "Jubilation, she loves me again"...though the song is in stereo all the way through on the "Bridge:" Lp....go figure???............John
