This record was not a sales success. Kenton, known for bringing Latin sounds into jazz, especially bossa nova, had recently married singer Ann Richards, and this is his first album with all vocal numbers. On the cover, Kenton leans on the wall in the midst of three abstract paintings from the Landau Gallery, a Los Angeles gallery that showcased modern art in the 1960s.
