"Poison ivy" and "fortune teller" were recorded on 18th August 1963 at Decca studios in London for release as the follow up to "Come on", everyone involved the Stones, Andrew Oldham and Decca records were disatisfied with the recordings and they were shelved. The Stones were insistent that they still wanted to record a version of "Poison ivy" so they entered De lane lea studios in Kingsway , London on 14th and 15th November and recorded a second version of "Poison ivy" which ended up on "The Rolling Stones" EP released in January 1964. "Fortune teller" was never recorded again, the version released on the American "More hot rocks" compilation album is a different mix of the original recording.
