This is a compilation of songs from four different sessions with four groups of players from Dec.1929-Sep.1939. "Oh, Didn't He Ramble", "Don't You Leave Me Here" and "King Porter Stomp" are previously unissued performances.

1) A1, A7, A8, B1 New York City, 9/14/1939, personnel: Sidney de Paris, trumpet; Claude Jones, trombone; Sidney Bechet, soprano sax; Albert Nicholas, clarinet; Happy Cauldwell, tenor sax; Jelly Roll Morton, piano and vocal; Lawrence Lucie, guitar; Wellman Braud, bass, Zutty Singleton, drums.

2) A2, B3, B5, B6 New York City, 9/28/1939, personnel: same as 1) except Bechet is out and Fred Robinson replaces Jones, trombone.

3) A3, A4, B4, B7 New York City, 12/17/29, personnel: Barney Bigard, clarinet; Morton, piano; Singleton, drums.

4) A5, A6 New York City, 6/3/30, personnel: Wilton Crawley and the Washboad Rhythm Kings: Henry "Red" Allen, Jr., trumpet; Wilton Crawley, clarinet and vocal; Charlie Holmes, alto sax; Morton, piano; Teddy Bunn, guitar.

5) same as 1) except Singleton, vocal

B8 NBC Broadcast, 7/14/40; Morton, piano solo (1:43)
