Lee Wrecker 20th Jan 2024		M.Antony, you asked "was this the first ever official release of "Midsummer Night's Scene?" To my knowledge and recollection I believe the answer is yes. The liner notes here say that Marc left John's Children because he had "intense dissatisfaction" with the mix of the track. Whether that had anything to do with its withdrawal I don't know. What I do know though is that the inclusion of this track on this album made this compilation sort after worldwide. It was put together by Australian rock historian Glenn A. Baker who made some excellent compilations for the major labels and on his own Raven label (1979). He specialized in including super rare tracks like "Midsummer Night's Scene" or re-releasing long out of print sort after albums.



M.Antony 16th Sep 2023		Was this the first ever official release of "Midsummer Night's Scene"? I can't find it in earlier compilations except bootlegs. And, of course, the original 1967 single was withdrawn.



albert 28th Jul 2017		Agree this is a superb compilation. When I came across it in Rhythm Records London (sadly gone) I could hardly get the wallet out quick enough, such was my excitement.



Lee Wrecker 29th Nov 2015		Phewee! That was an effort and only two small mistakes but corrections have been sent trainspotters. This one is an Australian only compendium of Bolan's output lovingly pieced together by Aussie rock historian Glenn A. Baker. The rarities, song selection, notes and production values are all high quality on this one. A fantastic compilation.
