The troupe of singers and dancers of the Volga is made up of 80 artists, the majority of whom come originally from the region of Kuibyshev, which has given Russia some of its best voices and greatest ballerinas. As a matter of fact, for the last few centuries the plains of the Volga have been the cradle of an art which has provided for Russian choruses and ensembles the staples of their repertories.~from liner notes
