Odd that Dreadlock Holiday time is the same on 45 as this LP but on the their greatest hits album (which came out next after Bloody Tourists) it's longer at 5:02.
Interesting that this one is on Polydor for the US, rather than Mercury, which had it in other countries, and had the band's previous US albums. Maybe US Mercury thought it was crap and passed it along to their PolyGram sister label?
#44 on Billboard is a hit? The single "Dreadlock Holiday" did much better in the UK where it went to #1. In Ireland, Australia and NZ it got to #2 and was most likely kept out of the top spot by "You're The One That I Want" from Grease which was #1 for ages here in Australia. Was it the references to cricket that disenfranchised the American record buying public? God knows the very mention of the sport is enough to get me off to sleep.
I have the single but don't like it and my partner doesn't like it either - she loves it! So looks like I'm stuck with it. Oh no!
