Fokeman 31st Oct 2014		I think I was responding to someone who was asking why this was ever referred to as "Song to a Seagull" when its correct name was Joni Mitchell. The original comment is now removed...



sladesounds 9th Sep 2014		It is referred to on most of the big web sites as "Song To A Seagull". The "Joni Mitchell" title has been used by many - an example is the original Rolling Stone magazine review refereed to it as "Joni Mitchell" but their current web review now lists it "Joni Mitchell/Song To A Seagull" As Phil said, Joni refers to it as "...Seagull" so that seems to me as being the favourite.



PhilMH 8th Sep 2014		Well, as far as Joni's own website is concerned, the title is "Song To A Seagull". I seem to remember reading in in ICE magazine maybe a decade or so ago that, when her Reprise albums were being remastered for CD reissue, she took the opportunity to correct Reprise's original mistake!



Fokeman 8th Sep 2014		The seagulls form the title on the sleeve "Song To A Seagull". The title is "Joni Mitchell" but like the Yardbirds LP "Roger The Engineer", this has been used by people to refer to what is actually an eponymous record. Artwork by Joni herself, of course!

May I please enquire if the vinyl paper labels of your album have the catalogue number RSLP 6293, for a Pye Records pressed and distributed copy (1968 earliest), or K 44051 which is the number used on the Kinney repress of 1971 onwards. Once the correct number is found, it can be added above to Record Details, by yourself or others.
