Jackie DeShannon recorded "Try to forget him" in 1961, although her version didn't appear until this "You won't forget me" album came out in 1965. P J Proby put out a single on Liberty of "Try to forget her", in 1961. Proby's song is ponderous and recalls Roy Orbison. Jackie's is bright and suggests Bobby Vee. Proby's says it was written by Dick Glasser. DeShannon's says that she wrote the song. Despite vastly different arrangements and a change of gender, they are the same song!
Track 3-10, "Only you can free my mind" is indicated on this release as Composer Unknown. In fact it was written by Jackie DeShannon, whose own demo of the song was released on the Ace album "Break-A-Way" (2008).
