 The main issue was that many record players weren't compatible with a stereo stylus so they wouldn't play plus to the fact that stereo records weren't stocked in shops much as the demand was so low, if you wanted a stereo copy you would usually have to order it in and wait. Some albums sound better in mono instead of stereo and vise-versa, Pet Sounds springs to mind, mono for me on that is better. Piper At the Gates of Dawn is much better in stereo. Only towards to the end of the 60's was it that you had to order mono records, yet singles were mostly pressed in a mono format not a stereo one with a few exceptions.

 Very few homes in the UK had a stereo system back in 1960 so demand for this stereo version would have been quite low. An original stereo album on the 1960's RCA black label is likely to be quite a rarity, it was only in the early 1970's that stereo pop records became the norm in the UK. Even then a lot of people who still had older mono record players would have had problems in trying to play stereo records on them.

First Pressing - Side 2 to compliment caseellerbroek's side 1 image.
RCA Victor Red Dot. Possibly 1967 as there is no tax code.
RCA Orange Glossy 1971 Label.
RCA Orange 1976 matt label.
RCA 'New Black' 1980 pressing.

Note:
Some sleeves of SF 5060 containing this 'New Black' album had a sticker 'INTS 5141' applied to the back of the cover thus changing the album to the 'RCA International' label.
