| | Presumably the type D in that link. I don't know how reliable this research is, but they seem to know what they are talking about. Type D is much like this, but doesn't have the rounded corners. |

| | Ah bad news then ! Oh well, anyone know what a sample sticker from '77 would look like ?
(Does this mean the other sample label shown is a fake aswel?) |

| | Have a look here.
This sticker is a type C, which apparently fell out of use around 1974. |

| | Just picked up a copy with a factory sample sticker on.
I'm always a bit dubious wether they are the real deal or not. The guy I got it off had only priced it at £4 so i doubt he even took it out of the sleeve otherwise he'd probably have wanted more. However, the sticker seems alot more aged than the label, and shown in bob1965's image, I though it was common practice for the stickers to go over the record company's logo/name, whereas my copy has the sticker over the album title, which doesn't seem right...
I'm not going to be too upset if it isn't as it was only cheap, but i would like to hear what other members, with more knowledge on the subject than me, think. Have i got a legit sample copy or not? |

| | We are dropping the Harvest Heritage label and will use a list to group them together. Seems to be the consensus of most people.
A search using "harvest heritage" will show all as I have amended the notes on each release and will watch out for future additions.
The link to the list is at the bottom of this page. |

| | I'm looking at the scans, and I don't see a record label called Harvest Heritage. I see a record on the Harvest label. In terms of Harvest Heritage, it doesn't look like a label to me - just a promo flash on the corner of the sleeve. |

| | Okay I don't think the division of jet on 45cat has worked properly as some releases have the extra info in brackets and others don't so it's not uniform.
And I agree I tend to think this should be a Harvest release with a section in the notes explaining that its part of the heritage compilation series.
I don't have a copy myself but I've seen records such as the move shine on which are the same layout as this;. Harvest labels with heritage sleeves.

| | I've always found the Jet label a bit weird on 45Cat. I'm with OC on that one (I think). I don't see why it needs to be divided up (I also think it is terribly confusing to 90% of users). We have Label bios where the distributor info could be explained/outlined.
I further think (without wishing to confuse matters even further) that this should be listed simply as "Harvest" with a note about the Harvest Heritage labelling, releases from which can always be gathered together using Lists in the future (when numbers support it).
Definitely a tough one but good that we can all have input to help decision-making... whatever that decision may eventually be!
EDIT: It might be helpful if we had more than one of these to look at, anyone got any others? |

Orbiting Cat 25th Sep 2013
| | The Harvest Heritage release already appear in the Harvest discography. I had a look at the Jet label on 45cat and I think that's wrong. It's just a single label. Doesn't matter if the catalogue numbering sequence changes. |

| | Are the mods going to work some magic so that the harvest heritage releases appear in the harvest discography aswell as their own then?
Also whilst on the topic of elo's labels over on 45cat the Jet label was divided as jet went through a number of distributors so the UK singles are listed as Jet[UA] Jet[CBS] or jet[Polydor], is this a practice that we should continue over here ? Just asking now before anymore LPs are added and extra corrections need making. |

| | There is no actual rule as to sleeve over label info, if there is a difference they can be highlighted if necessary in the notes.
London American Recordings was never used as a label name it was always London with the wording American Recordings added after the label was up and running to promote the fact it was issuing recordings from the US (although I am sure some non US ones slipped in under the same heading). Although referred by some collectors as "London American" etc. it was never used as such by the parent company.
EMI actually created and promoted a sub label/series called "Harvest Heritage" with a change in the cat# prefix and there were about 40 (I think) albums issued.
But as always the matter on one or two seperate labels is open to discussion and if needed I'll put it to the other mods for a final decision
The other entry will be merged with this one. |

| | My searches today showed Cat# SHSM 2015 all quoted Harvest Heritage, which would confirm sladesounds note from Wikipedi: "In 1975, a reissue sub-label was launched called Harvest Heritage. This new label largely compiled material that had been previously released on Harvest from 1969 onward.” this being a 1977 release, would full into this group, all the none “Heritage” had different Cat# |

Pridesale 24th Sep 2013
| | Unless Harvest Heritage is on the label , would it not make the best sense to put them all in the Harvest label , with 'Harvest Heritage' in the notes , otherwise you end up with the London/ London American Recordings argument over in 45rm reaching a different logical conclusion |

| | Not the definative answer but Wikipedi states:
"In 1975, a reissue sub-label was launched called Harvest Heritage. This new label largely compiled material that had been previously released on Harvest from 1969 onward. However, Harvest Heritage also reissued music from late 1960s EMI bands that had never recorded for the label, such as The Gods, Love Sculpture and Tomorrow. Heritage also occasionally released new music, such as Video Flashback, an album by German composer Eberhard Schoener, and Four Rock 'n' Roll Legends, a recording of a 1977 concert by rockabilly veterans Charlie Feathers, Buddy Knox, Jack Scott and Warren Smith."
So I think you're right with what you've gone with. |
