All are re-recording (including B5 which the Comets had recorded a decade earlier in Mexico). Haley's voice is deep and flat on this recording suggesting he may have had a cold at the time of recording, though some have suggested his (acknowledged) alcoholism might have been a factor. Discounting one-off demos and a handful of singles, this was the first time Haley recorded following the death of his long-time right-hand man, sax player Rudy Pompilli. The group performance photo on the rear of the sleeve still shows Rudy, in fact, as it was taken in 1974. Backing Haley on this recording session were a mixture of performing Comets and session musicians; the identities of some remain unconfirmed.
