I heard about it after the fact, but on November 11, 2011, The Steve Miller Band was a "mystery musical guest" at an event in the 747 factory building in Everett, Washington, USA, to celebrate 747 program accomplishments related to the 747-8 program. Apparently they had a contest to guess who the "mystery musical guest" would be. I would have guessed Earth, Wind & Fire because of the song "Let's Groove", which has the following line in it: "Just move yourself and glide like a 747".
I bought this album (UK issue) as a 16 year old with no idea of what the music was like, just because I thought the cover was so cool. Luckily it was fantastic and it started a lifelong love of Steve's music.
Going back to the comments in the forums regarding re-issues etc I would suggest that the 2008 variant has its own entry as it is barcoded which the original was not. I am happy to create a new entry and move your scans over or if you would like to do so let me know and I will transfer scans over.
I have removed the barcode entered as the original release did not have this information.
Added cover and label variant images from the 2008 reissue on 180 gram vinyl. The front and back covers are identical to the original release covers. The stickers are on the shrinkwrap. The matrix number on the Side 2 label is SO 1-11872, which I assume is an error (should be SO 2-11872, as on the original release).
