Comments and Reviews TheDroid 28th Feb 2018 Added another red label variant pressed by Columbia, Santa Maria, CA. This includes the Bronze logo on the label. TheDroid 17th Feb 2018 Added second original first pressing label variant (prior to the inclusion of the "Bronze" emblem). Fokeman 1st May 2017 This LP was recorded in London in November 1970 and issued everywhere in 1971. Are you sure it was issued, only a month after recording, in the USA?
Mod Edit: Reviewed in the January 2, 1971 issue of Billboard magazine (page 31), which would put the release sometime in the final 2 weeks of December 1970. bill mann 10th Jul 2014 Went to see Chuck Berry at Middlesbrough Town Hall many moons ago, this lot were on. They were really crap, mind you, not my cuppa tea really. Then Chuck appeared, blimey! he as even worse. Rustical 10th Jul 2014 Added the first pressing red labels.
The US release not only differed vastly in the cover art from the original UK release, but also in the tracks. Instead of Bird of prey (the opening track of the UK album) we find Simon the Bullet Freak (later used as a B-Side in the UK).
Bird of prey had already appeared on the US release of Heep's debut album.
