Thanks for that information Lee. It gives some perspective to the two releases.

Hi Droid, I don't know why they chose to re-brand this album with the title of "Living In The 70's" but this is essentially the Skyhooks "Straight In A Gay Gay World" album that was released in 1976 here in Australia with the cat# L 35982. The Wikipedia has this information
"After completing their 1976 US tour, the band remained in San Francisco and recorded their third album with (Ross) Wilson producing, Straight in a Gay Gay World—called Living in the 70's for US release with "Living in the 70's" replacing "The Girl Says She's Bored"—which appeared in August and peaked at #3 on the Australian album charts."
Who knows what went on in the minds of the Mercury label executives to enforce such wholesale changes to what now seems to be a fairly innocuous album title and artwork. I seem to recall some hubbub about the "gay" reference in the title but either way this is not the Skyhooks' best work and marks the demise of the original line-up as a creative force. The songs on this one are not up to the standard of their first two albums and only "Million Dollar Riff" and the quirky "I'm Normal" cut the mustard here. I used to own this, well the local issue, but sold it in the 80's and have no inclination to hunt it down again.
Anyway this album is really a completely different album to the band's Australian debut with the same title.

Other than album title, cover and the title song, this album is totally different from the 1974 Australian release L-35,299.
