"Stick To Me" got to #49 here in Australia and "Hey Lord Don't Ask Me Questions" which followed it went to #24 but Parker seemed to cut through in Australia. He toured, hosted national pop shows and had good radio support. I just presumed it was the same everywhere but we sometimes take to an artist here that the rest of the world ignores.
Lee Wrecker: "Stick To Me" only climbed to #125 on Billboard 200 chart. The following studio album, "Squeezing Out Sparks" was the first Graham Parker album to break into the top 100, peaking at #40 (as did "The Up Escalator"). These proved to be his most succesful (in terms of chart position) albums in the U.S.
I'm a bit surprised that this one has taken so long to surface. I mean the US release, this was his breakthrough album after all or did not fair so well in the USA?
