albert 29th Sep 2018		According to Record Collector 169 page 36, the LP was originally going to be called "We Love You" and had a minimalist white sleeve with an image of a gift tag, a finished sleeve has survived, but then the idea got shelved and sort-of rehashed for Beggars Banquet.



sgt weatherman 20th Aug 2017		Should we have two entries for the mono copies I ask as I have both mono mixes but no way of listing them.



Focus B 24th May 2017		My own copy has a non 3D front with the, "Red-Mono Blue-Stereo" cut out hole the back. The album itself is the genuine mono 1P/P1 version. The red inner sleeve gives the appropriate indication but must've been confusing for stereo. I wondered for sometime if these copies originally came with the usual mono or stereo polythene inner bags with my copy of the album being swapped over from an original issue at some point?



Magic Marmalade 28th Dec 2015		There's a very bizzzaah listing of this on ebay at the mo, with one side having the true 1P mono matrix, and the other with a T2-2K fold down matrix. albert 5th Nov 2015		regarding the padded silk cover: I now do remember exactly where I saw it - it was with a dealer who used to have a pitch at the London TUC Record Fair many years ago, his stall was behind/under the stairs (in front of the bogs), not a great pitch but his stall was quite large. And the record did indeed look genuine, the silk was in tatters as you would expect and the padding (I think it was cotton wool) exposed. I don't remember the silk being a lurid crimson colour like the one on the internet (which looks quite suspect to me), The one I saw had silk which I think it was very faded and may even have had a faded printed pattern, the dealer also pointed out some difference with the layout/printed images but I cannot remember now exactly what it was. The dealer did want a substantial sum, maybe £300, and I looked it up in the RRPG where it was mentioned 'matter of fact'-like, ...my opinion at the time was that 'it would turn up in better condition', alas it goes down as one of my could-have-had-it records (although I would still have baulked at the price).

Deltics 20th Sep 2015		The jury is still out on the pink padded silk cover. This from Stones On Decca : Is this the real thing or not? That is a question that is impossible to answer at this point of time. There are no pictures or written statements or similar evidences that are originated from Decca itself. Nor do we have any comments from people who actually worked for Decca design department at the time. This could be the actual prototype, but it may as well just be a sleeve that someone had a bit of fun with. Unless we do not find another copy or some hard evidence of how it was supposed to be looking like, then the question will remain open.

albert 5th Sep 2015		The very very rare promo of this had a padded silk border with the 3D pic in the usual place, needless to say the only copy (s) I have ever seen had the silk in very bad shape.

Magic Marmalade 16th Jun 2015		The more exhaustive information on this is given in the link provided below... ...but in a nutshell, Mono issues which have a Matrix: ARL-8126-T2-2K ARL-8127-T2-2K are stereo mixes folded down to mono, But those first issues which have a matrix: ARL-8126-1P ARL-8126-P1 (The Ps and 1s can be found in varaious configurations) Are true mono mixes - were made from genuine a genuine mono master (Not folded). Some stereo copies are be found in mono sleeves, which, although they have the Cat# TXL 103, are not mono. (Some have a stereo sticker over the mono cat# bottom right on the back this may have come off on some copies, leading the owner to believe they have a mono copy, when in fact they have a stereo one). The original inner sleeve is red one with white smokey pattern on both sides. Finally, a note on the construction of the sleeve: It is a single piece of laminated card, which forms the gatefold... a separately constructed envelope (a back piece of card with another flip in piece glued to it along the flaps) is glued to the inside back side of the gatefold... so when the record is out of the sleeve, you have a triple thickness of card on the inside back of the gatefold, but only a single laminated thickness on the front cover.
