An6y66 2nd Dec 2013		yeah i assume as everything was on UA in america not Harvest they already had the rights to Showdown and put it on the LP to make it more desirable.



TopPopper 2nd Dec 2013		I may be wrong but I think the whole album was recorded under the EMI contract? Side 2 anyway - sessions with Marc Bolan were in April. I think Warners bought the album tapes from EMI, but by then, "Showdown" had already been released on Harvest ahead of the LP, so EMI claimed it for keeps. (All this is UK-talk of course!)



An6y66 2nd Dec 2013		Yeah because it was recorded under Harvest it wasn't included with the UK LP as warners didn't have the rights. We'll have to see from the only owner if it has Showdown. I Would assume that as its a test pressing of the US LP it would have the US track list....



TopPopper 2nd Dec 2013		Yes it did. So is it on the white label copy? It's possible it was missed off. It was recorded and released while the group were with EMI (Harvest), but by the time the LP came out they had moved to Warners.

Malcyramone SUBS 4th Nov 2013		We know it as 'Dreaming Of 4000' but the label and cover says 'I'm Only Dreaming'. My guess is it was a working title during the recording sessions.
