esfera04 12th Jun 2018		Vinyl Album The Herd - Paradise Lost	"Howard Blaikley" are in fact Ken Howard and Alan Blaikley, very successful authors for Dave Dee, Beaky, Mick And Tich, Honeycombs, also producers of The Marmalade......lightweight pop. "From The Underword" is very nice track, influenced by the saga of Orpheus & Euridyke. Like the Beatles´"Penny Lane" it features a Bach trumpet. "Sad" is another track that has something to do with Johann Sebastian Bach, it´s an uncredited rendition of his "Air (D-Dur BWV 1068)". It shares that "Bach Spirit" with Procol Harum´s "A Whiter Shade Of Pale". "Impressions Of Oliver" and "Paradise Lost" include brass sound, arranged by Reg Tilsey who was also the arranger of the Pretty Things´ "Emotions". "On Your Own" is a nice track written by Peter Frampton and "She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not" has a jazzy feeling.

esfera04 20th Dec 2017		Vinyl Album The Yardbirds - Over, Under, Sideways, Down	Capitol has chosen a wrong picture of the Yardbirds. There´s Jimmy Page, who wasn´t featured on any of the tracks. He joined the Yardbirds on their 45 Happenings Ten Years Time Ago / Psycho Daisies which was released in late 1966. Stroll On was another track, a re-recording of The Train Kept A Rollin´, part of the Blow Up Movie by Michelangelo Antonioni and to be found on the OST. Thosae three recordings featured Jeff Beck & Jimmy Page Then the last period of The Yardbirds followed in 1967/68, with only Jimmy Page on guitar. So the picture would have been a nice one for the Happenings...-45.

esfera04 1st Apr 2017		Vinyl Album Art - Supernatural Fairy Tales	@ppint: On trade fairs I often saw a counterfeit, made from the third version with the white pink / white "I" label (1970). The german 1975 release Ariola Island 88395 claimed too be stereo but it wasn´t.....The UK re-release stiill stated "mono", which is right. The only ART tracks in stereo are the six 1971 remixes on the Island box set (CD version).

esfera04 20th Mar 2017		Vinyl Album Traffic - Mr. Fantasy	@pprint: I added two scans of my own record. I also posted pictures of my german Traffic album ´Hole In My Shoe´ from 01.1968. The original Mr. Fantasy wasn´t available until 1971, when the Ariola group started to distribute Island Records in Germany & Netherlands.

The german album and other european versions like Fontana 885 800 TY ´Traffic Avec Stevie Winwood´ (France), Island ILP-800 (2357251) ´Coloured Rain´ (Sweden) don't include "Heaven Is In Your Mind" (USA: A6) and the reprise of "Paper Sun" called "We're A Fade, You Missed This" (B6). Same with the canadian release Island WIS 4700 "Reaping". All those releases have different artworks. The first german Mr. Fantasy album was released in 1971, distributed by the Ariola group. All the versions are available on different UK and US CDs.
