GEMSMFAN 5th Nov 2016		12" Single Carola - Främling	Side A is a medley of Swedish, Dutch, English and German. The 45 has Dutch version Side A, Swedish version Side B. It would've been nice if they could've put all 4 full versions on this 12" with 2 per side. Space definitely wasn't an issue here.

GEMSMFAN 1st Nov 2016		CD Album Miles Davis - In A Silent Way	this doesn't look like a 1987 release.. the case has an original bar code before the Sony takeover, but the disc label is very plain looking and has the revised "Columbia" logo (introduced in 1991)... note no "walking eye in the box" and the double thin line outerborder, which also was printed on discs, back then. A new Epic logo was introduced in 1991, also.

GEMSMFAN 3rd Oct 2016		Betamax The Beatles - Let It Be	The square cassette label just came off, as the glue holding it has dried out. After all, it's 35 years old! Peteyboy: you had a Zenith Beta VCR.. "Betamax" was Sony's patented brand VCR machine. The format in 45worlds, should be "Beta" and not "Betamax", which was Sony's VCR. Sanyo called there's "Betacord" It's like calling every tissue made, a "Kleenex".

GEMSMFAN 27th Sep 2016		CD Album Ricky Nelson - All My Best	the U.S. / Canadian releases are edited versions, as additional tracks were recorded, but omitted. They were, "You are the Only One", "You Know What I Mean", "Don't Leave Me This Way", "Mighty Good" and "Sweeter than You".
GEMSMFAN 26th Sep 2016		CD Album Quarterflash - Quarterflash	very unusual PolyGram pressed in West Germany for U.S., disc (non-Target). And this wasn't intended to be a Target, as text was printed halfway (in CD ring area). Looks more like a U.S. pressed WEA Manufacturing Inc. disc except it has the PolyGram characteristic, the fully reflective coated disc. The back inlay has the catalog number on the otherwise blank other side.. the jewel case though is already a grooves case and not the smooth, fogged type which is what early produced CD's were packaged in.

GEMSMFAN 18th Sep 2016		CD Album Madonna - Madonna	Adding the Yellow / Purple label which was pressed by PolyGram in West Germany. Easy indication between Japanese and German discs. Japanese ones have clear ring and German ones have solid coated with color covering ring to hole. Worth noticing, the back inlays that weren't printed in the U.S.A., the inside (blank side) of the inlays (faces up under the disc tray) all have the catalog number printed in the upper right corner.

The jewel case is USA, but the disc is an import (foreign catalog number) Note the label code on the disc and SACEM right society. The insert (back inlay) has New York printed. Did you buy this in a used CD shop? I'd expect something like this from a used CD shop near me. They remove the discs when the shop buys used discs that they'll price @ $6.99 or more. The cheaper priced discs are left in the case. When you take the jewel case to the counter to pay, they don't necessarily give you the correct (the one that came with that case) disc.
