In the 1990s it was thought that no prints of the film existed that had not faded to red, like on the cover image. But this 1978 release had it, which lo and behold I had found locally.

Review
Wade Williams, a US theater owner, searched for a print of the movie in the 1970s and found only one at a Los Angeles TV station, and bought it. The original negative had had the ending cut off in order to make a different UK ending, and then that end strip was lost. This 35mm film has some scratches, and it was not processed and restored for this release. It is now stored in controlled vaults with other classic films.
Williams went on to refilm the story in 1986 with Toby Hooper. In 2002 he released this 50th Anniversary DVD of his 1953 film.
There are mixed feelings about it because the film imperfections can spoil the enjoyment. There are many 16mm films of it around America and some have been used to issue a couple of tape releases without imperfections.
I've read that the film is public domain, but I'd like confirmation.
Oh, you ask about the movie. Yes it was damn good. Yes color.

I got a kick out of Nell Brennan as the hotel waitress serving Lampton in the hotel room, with her "come and get it" allure. Must have been doing double-duty as a prostitute there. She's obviously Irish. See the photo.

Review
It's a 1973 Hammer Film collector item. Previously a 4:3 VHS had been available. That edition is included here as a bonus, in addition to the theatrical edition, which really just trims the bottom and top. The box states that the film shape was 1.75, which is unusual. My calculations on the DVD are 1.72 within 1.77.
Nude scenes are intact.
To stomach this movie you need to be able to accept Kenneth Haigh's personality here, which comes across slobbish. He must have changed since starting the TV series. Most people can't take it, but some appreciate the film.

Sheena (Sheena: Queen Of The Jungle) (1984)
Rated 8/10
Actually a well-made film, with great location photography. You need to give credit where it's due, not show off your obnoxious scorn at every turn.
But it has faults, especially the hammy lousy non-acting of the male stars.
Tanya Roberts is great, and John Guillerman knew when to create sexy scenes (nudity, yes). Sexiness that's not blocked by American dorks, or spoiled by incessant European lesbianism, and done in a natural way.
This movie comes off better than 1959's Tarzan's Greatest Adventure, also filmed on location but being low on story.
One thing however, is that with the nudity it would have to be restricted, and you lose the logical target audience of young people. Kind of a quandary. You need two editions for both purposes, and I believe in providing cut editions as alternatives.

American Graffiti (1973)
When you've experienced the real era yourself, the movie is a well-crafted cartoon.
Funny about Dreyfuss getting buddy-buddy with the bikers as if they're good pals like everyone else. We called those "hardrocks" in Canada.
Interesting, I don't care for the surf and hotrod songs myself, falsettos and all.
If you gonna take American Graffiti you gotta take Wolfman Jack. Seems like a biker type of American. Painted his face black? American djs are very smooth and professional.
Jacko was on Winnipeg radio in the early 1990s interviewed by a CBC female. She asked him over-the-head intellectual questions, and all he said was like "just keep on boogying". Maybe she gave him a heart attack?

Taylor Hackford did a good job on this one. Well staged and photographed, including Caribbean island locations. Rachel Ward is a pleasure to watch. A refilming of the 1940s film Out Of The Past, this one adds extra plot elements when Brogan gets back to US, involving a crime caper.
The love story with Rachel and Jeff Bridges in the Caribbean is what makes the movie.

You see she is a very seductive female. The low neckline helps. I have deduced after much cornsidermation that this is a false front as part of the costume.
I thought the production was flawless.

Roy Orbison - More Of Roy Orbison's Greatest Hits
Review
Borne On The Wind was only released overseas, with What'd I Say. Because of scheduling complications with the Pretty Paper Christmas single, Borne was not released in North America. So each of his hits LPs has two songs that were only released overseas. What a magnificent recording Borne On The Wind is.
In Dreams was Roy's own favorite of his hits, and maybe mine too. Working For The Man and Leah were a double-sided hit, both the fast and slow sides making it. Falling was still a typically good power ballad, but starting to falter.
When It's Over became a hit end of 1963, it was in fact over for Roy's songwriting skill. After that it was a struggle, with the inspiration fading. His writing partner had changed from Joe Melson to Bill Dees, possibly creating the problem. Possibly Roy had become too busy touring to be in tune with his inspiration. Pretty Woman still became his biggest hit in 1964, but not because of inspired original songwriting; it was just a supercharged arrangement. I think that was Bob Moore on lead guitar, maybe repeating his own riff from the Everly's Lucille? Did Roy write the melodies or the lyrics mainly, in relation to Melson and Dees?
Following this release came Goodnight, which was still good but not outstanding.

My copy would be a reissue. Dizzy, Miss Lizzy is a different recording from the single, inferior. Makes me wonder if he rerecorded some others for the 1959 album as well, because some of them are terrible vocals.

The end of Roy's stay at Monument. Single hits petered out as MGM's singles overlapped.. Goodnight was still quite a good power ballad. You're My Girl was not great. Let The Good Times Roll and I'd Be A Legend In My Time were on singles that did not make it in 1964. Yo Te Amo Maria was a fantastic soft ballad flip of Pretty Woman.
A2, A5, B3 were repeated from the Crying album. B5 was from the Lonely and Blue album.

A co-production with British Lion Films of UK who made TV movies. It was shown in UK theaters in summer 1990, cropped to widescreen.
The ship used was the Bounty from the 1962 film.
The DVD is cropped to 16:9. There is some discussion whether it was framed for 4:3 and so loses some necessary picture.

This was filmed many times in later years. This is the only satisfying one to me. The reason is that the story is made clear in the screenplay. The others couldn't be bothered taking such care, so we could not keep track of what faction was doing what for what purpose. More liberal times and less care.

A few words about the music. Only The Lonely his first big hit in 1960. Followup Blue Angel sold about one third the copies. Followup I'm Hurting sold one third of that. It was diminishing returns similar to his first three regional singles on Sun. Then Running Scared hit it out of the park, and they could say The Big O had "arrived".
Uptown came before Only The Lonely and had small chart success.
The fifth hit was Crying / Candy Man. I must say I never heard Crying locally, only Candy Man as the hit. A case of leaving to the market to decide which side was the hit. Next Dream Baby became a hit over the power ballad The Actress. The Crowd was another good ballad, which has been ignored since then amid all the hits.
I think Evergreen and Love Star were only released overseas.
This brings us to summer 1962.
