A side matrix; 39999-A,recorded by American Decca September 23, 1935 in New York, N.Y.
with vocal by Dan Grissom and arranged by Eddie Durham (trb; gtr.).

B side matrix; 60015-A, recorded September 30, 1935 in New York, N.Y.
"Charmaine" arranged by Sy Oliver and is from Fox Films Production "What Price Glory".

Both these sides originally released on American Decca 628 in 1935, with A & B titles reversed.
(Decca 628 is already on this site).

I believe it's simply a matter of "The Gramophone Company" at Hayes using up whatever old labels they still have in stock. Of course, this can only occur on a later re-press which may also sport an older label on its reverse - not the other way around !

Bennie Goodman's Boys - After A While / Muskrat Scramble
Added images of a 1950's pressing.
Also two more showing writing in the original wax; detail of matrix no. and larger view of Muskrat Ramble, sic.
The other side is likewise adorned and both sides have "S.C." at the bottom.

Both tracks were recorded in Chicago on August 13, 1929.
A side matrix, C4035A. Other: 4968.
B side matrix, C4036A Other: 4968-

Moderator: my apologies, the additional pictures are of course the B side and I've written 'A' on the pics., which is incorrect.
Also, release date is 1931. Not as shown on the original contribution.

Gurney Slade on this 78 was the theme music to a six-part British TV comedy series aired by ATV in 1960 and starring Anthony Newley. (Gurney Slade is also a place name).

Please take a look at G.V.19 on this site and you'll see an early pressing (without NCB) and a re-press on which the NCB appeared.
