Juke Jules SUBS 30th Mar 2020		CD Album [no artist listed] - Little Blessings	Review The tracks are all popular hymn tunes set as instrumentals in a suitably soporific style by Steve Wingfield using keyboards for piano, xylophone and other instrumental parts, with plenty of tinkling cascades of bells. Close on two hours in total. Very soothing for adults too. Are they on YouTube? Yes and no, there are several Fisher Price lullaby videos, none with hymns but otherwise in exactly this style, with the same instrumentation, presumably also by Wingfield. Juke Jules SUBS 14th Mar 2020		78 RPM Margaret Whiting - (Disc Jockey Interview) Good Morning Mr. Echo / Good Morning, Mr. Echo	The commercial release of Good Morning, Mr. Echo was on Capitol 1702 and it's interesting to hear a bit of studio talk-back on the video there. Bill Putnam was a ground-breaking audio engineer and here demonstrates his pioneering use of reverb which he achieved by working in his bathroom. The eponymous echo presumably used tape editing techniques. From Wikipedia: "Milton Tasker "Bill" Putnam (February 20, 1920 – April 13, 1989) was an American audio engineer, songwriter, producer, studio designer and businessman, who has been described as "the father of modern recording". I'd love to hear the interview with him about his techniques but it's not yet on YouTube

Did Alma Bazel Androzzo write tune plus lyrics, or did he set a famous text to music? This song has been quite widely recorded and the text was used in the concluding text of a sermon given by Martin Luther King which was subsequently quoted in the eulogy at his funeral in 1968. The band was summoned to play before the cultural committee who decided which bands should have a licence to play in the DDR but their work was too subversive to get past the Stazi, particularly the works of Kurt Demmler, and they were informed there was no problem with their licence, just that the band no longer existed. After the opening of the Brandenburg Gate the band re-formed and became popular in the unified Germany [YouTube Video]
