The Cramps - Ultra Twist
Perhaps the label here should be the Dutch independent label Music On Vinyl rather than Sony. "Manufactured and distributed by Music On Vinyl " is on the label and the MOV12077 cat# also indicates it's definitely a product of that label. This was also made in the Netherlands and has European rights on the label so it is highly unlikely that this was released solely in the UK.

I can buy this in Australia like most Music On Vinyl releases but I can't be certain whether this release is like the Cramps' 2023 Flamejob which is still available here as "part of a limited edition of 2000 individually numbered copies on translucent blue coloured vinyl and includes an insert with lyrics (WORLDWIDE PRESSING QTY)".

This is a difficult record to place but I would tend to think that this would best fit the current site protocols for LPs and 45s on the Music On Vinyl label and be listed as from the Netherlands. Why we list the 12" Singles on the label as EU releases is a mystery to me but as a Dutch independent label all releases should be listed the same.

So Netherlands would be the best fit for country on this one and while we're at it we should bring the four 12" Singles listed as from the EU into line as well.

Violent Femmes - Add It Up (1981-1993)
This is a club edition of this CD manufactured for BMG as is indicated on the images supplied but the barcode listed on this entry is from the regular US release. The images here do not show the actual barcode numbers and I don't have a barcode reader but I suspect that the barcode here may not match the one entered on this entry.

The correct release date for this reissue is 1999. The original 1993 release had the cat# 828 399-2 and a different barcode. The cat# here 3984 28258 2 was also used on the 1999 Australian reissue of this CD but the barcodes are different. I'll send a correction and link this entry to the others on the site.

Ahh... I see it now. Looks like a middle management decision to me... "er listen up everyone, from now on all CDs will have the barcode in a single string of numbers as a secondary cat#. Reprint everything and look lively about it." Unless there was a legal reason it really seems to be a pointless addition to manufacturing process. Anyway thanks for pointing the difference and yes, CD's are tricky little buggers.

p.s. Sent correction for track 02 "I Had A Dream, Joe".

Hey gregs45s how is this different to the linked 1992 UK Mute label issue below. All the details are the same as far as I can see. Should the entries be merged or is there something that differentiates them that I can't see? What do you think?

Hey Magic, the cat# 8663102 is on the spines and in bold on the back inlay after the regular cat#. Is the one with one 6 in the barcode box? My eyes aren't able to see the numerals in there. Could it be a typo or mistake? Or is that how UK specific cat#s are generated by dropping the 2nd or 3rd number from a 7 numeral sequence in the full cat#. Whatever the reason this entry looks taken of by covering all bases. Thanks Magic.

I'm with you on this Quad5point1 the label should be as the disc indicates Parlophone. You can add the -EMI if people think it's necessary but just Parlophone would be fine on this one.

@Jerry Cunningham and gregs45s. The USA Club Edition of this CD has no barcode, was made in Japan for RCA (not Capitol) and has the club edition specific cat# D144276 on the back tray as well as on the CD. So definitely a different entry needed for that one but discwrongs have made an unholy mess of their entry of it so don't copy that. What I can't figure out is whether the club editions label is Capitol or RCA. My feeling would be RCA so you can bet your bottom dollar it's Capitol. Some sloppy blanking out of names and numbers on the club edition artwork leaves traces of the original USA Capitol release but adds that it's made for RCA and gives it a new cat#. Help!
Now the regular USA CD release is identical across the board (label, cat#, barcode etc.) to the EU release and even uses the UK disk on this entry packaged with a USA printed inlay and booklet. So this is international I'm afraid.

Soft Cell - Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go
Hello LD, thanks for sorting this entry out and taking on board my suggestions. Thanks also for taking the time to scan and add the labels from the original 1981 release.
The only thing we are missing is a 1981 label with Sire written to the right of the logo rather than underneath and then this entry will be complete. So, if anyone has the 1981 issue with that slight label variation it would be great to add it here and finish this one off.

If anyone has paid A$184 for this album, as it is valued here, I'd love to meet them... I have few LPs for sale myself. Seriously, this is a A$5 - $10 album and is widely available at this price on line.

Pardon me for valuing this one a little high at $15 but the vinyl is pressed well and the overall package is solid. Seems to me that while this album had some critical acclaim and good reviews it is just not sought after in Australia. Does it do better elsewhere or is it a "thing" with this album.
I must admit the only thing I play off this is Elton John's version of Pinball Wizard.

Soft Cell - Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go
All of my supplied images here are of the 1989 repress of this record. LaurenceD's back cover with no bar code would have been a 1981 release and should be moved in front of my "89 back cover. The label on LaurenceD's copy would also differ slightly too. So LaurenceD if you could scan your labels we could add them to this entry as 1981 labels.
There were two types of '81 issue labels (Jacksonville, Specialty) and the Sire logo is slightly different in each pressing as well different again to this '89 issue. So, I think we should shuffle the images here to match the chronology and wait for the other labels to come in. Plenty of users on here own this one so I think the labels for '81 copies should be easy enough to find.

Kimberley Rew - The Bible Of Bop
No Magic it's a 12" 45 RPM single, mini-album and album. Take your pick!? Was it actually released as a single? I don't know but it featured as "a contemporary review in Sounds magazine's "Singles of the Week"" and another music rag according to the Wikipedia. The Bible of Bop is in itself a compilation of three previously released 7" singles so take yer pick. Later CD reissues were packaged with a few extra tracks and released as an album. Ticks all the boxes for everything.
Personally, though my preference would be to leave it here - it's a 12", it's around 20 mins long and plays at 45 RPM. Is that enough?

The Stooges - Fun House
The date on this should be 1971 judging by the labels. Elektra only used the solid blue background labels in 1971. The cover that loadedcat has uploaded does not match and may have been switched at some point. There were two Australian releases of this album in the 70's this one in '71 and another in '78. Both these releases, as was customary in Australia, had the gatefold reduced to a standard single cardboard sleeve. So this gatefold cover may be a US cover as the cat#s were the same in both countries. That aside the date on this is definitely 1971 and I'll send a correction.

Hmm...same cat# (minus the space between the C and the 3) and barcode as the 1989 EU version below. 1989 would be a reasonable starting place for a date. Oh, and if anywhere on this actual product the cat# has a space between the C and 3 it's international.

The gatefold on this one is actually vertical rather than horizontal. You know, so that when you turn it to read it the record falls out on the floor. I have rotated both the gatefold images here 90 degrees for ease of viewing.

The Flying Lizards - Money
No UK original of this one up yet? I have linked this Australian edition to the USA release which pleasingly copies the original UK release artwork. In Australia, however, we get this crass corporate TV network label version smartly packaged in a 12" Disco 45 sleeve (image supplied). "Money" indeed. Having said that I must concede that pressing is top notch and sounds fantastic.
