As I recall, the label didn't carry composer credits. Shame, that!

I'd put it on the site but the labels are defaced, If you've got a good copy, maybe you might put it on(when you get a spare few moments). Cheers, RC!

RC: "Yeah thirty minutes after high noon oh please don't fore sake me" - RC, I'm sitting here, completely cracking up at your comebacks! You're not related to Magic Marmalade, are you?
That track I'm missing might "shake things up a bit"!

No, RC, There was only the one O.C. Smith cut on Red Hot Hits, but the one you mentioned DID show up on 20 Power Hits(Australian Edition) in 1969, on Side B, I recall.

Well, RC, you know what you've done.... blasted my theory to smitherines(cue: sound of loud explosion - ker-boom... not loud enough! Need it LOUDER!.... Ker-BOOOOOM!!! - that's better!).

That "Hollywood Spectacular" How many volumes were issued in that series? Or did the label go under before they could issue any further LPs under ANY title?

Of the tracks contained on this album, I have them all but one. The one I'm missing is "California Earthquake".

Same Track, R.C.? "Sweet Changes"? 20 Red Hot Hits(Now N-001) had the track at Side A/No.6.

Hi, TP! I don't think it's the one you suggest, I think I read about it once in a British magazine called... wait for it... Record Collector! The album had the title as per this issue but, I vaguely recall different artwork. And RC, look in that book, and see if the artwork(if depicted) is the same as this one, or if it's different, if you could, please? This might confirm my theory... or blow it to smitherines!

Charlie Rich - Behind Closed Doors
I've actually got the tracks for this album stored away on one of my external hard-drives. A friend asked me to put it onto CD for him. He provided me with a British copy of the album.
Gotta say I much prefer the Ray Charles 1968 version of B3, 'Till I Can't Take It Anymore" to Charlie's version! Charlie's isn't bad, but Ray's is much better!

Track B4 turned up on an Aussie 20-Hits LP in 1970 called 20 Red Hot Hits(issued by a very-short-lived label called "Now Records" who only issued that one LP).

I'll bet they had a spirited time doing this album! That theatre was featured in Series 1 of British TV station, LivingTV's "Most Haunted" series. Patsy Rowland(Carry-On movies) was interviewed in that edition.

Hi, Fixbutte! "I'll Wake You Up When I Get Home" may well be his last charting single, but in which market are we talking about? Here in Australia his record "Rolling With The Flow" got some radio exposure in 1977, but alas no chart activity, not in New South Wales at any case. Pity! It was a good record.

R.C.: "I remember the look on the girls face when I gave the money in 50c pieces" You're a shocker, R.C.! Bet they'd have loved you do - not!(ha-ha) See how I paraphrased a title in there?

Sonny And Cher - Once Again
I think they just stayed together for a) their daughter, Chastity's sake and b) to meet contractual obligations to MCA Records and the producers of their TV show. The cover's a painting rather than a photo, still, a picture's worth a thousand words, so it's said!

Look at prices back then and look at what we're paying now for full-price CDs. Australia always seems to cop the rough end of the pineapple when it comes to prices we pay for anything. Even computer software prices are higher here than most other places in the world, and very likely artificially inflated for all kinds of flimsy reasons(excuses).

Shouldn't A3 be "Then He Kissed Me"? unless they've got terrible aim and couldn't hit the side of a barn with a boulder!

Oh, R.C. you lazy devil! Revealing your secrets on how to do as little work as possible, ay? Play all the long songs! Yep, that'll knock over an hour in about 8 tracks after you add in time for back-announcements, corporate sponsorship acknowledgements(in community radio we couldn't call them "ads"), news bulletins and giving weather reports... should just about do it, I reckon!

The label's I've uploaded have the title reinstated, the track titles centre-aligned and the catalogue number more prominent. The hue of the label body is due to me taking the contrast up to 100% to get a clearer image. And what KAS45SINGLES says, suggests to me that Mike Nesmith might've learned a trick or two from Mr. Alpert. I was intending to upload front and rear covers as well, but seeing they're already here, decided to contribute labels instead.

Talkin' 'bout long songs, what about the daddy of 'em all, MacArthur Park by Albus Dumbledore... er...Richard Harris?(Albus Dumbledore.... don't you remember? Harris played that role if the first two Harry Potter movies!). MacArthur Park clocks in at close to 8 minutes, plenty of time to "answer nature's call" and throw together a cup of coffee, then get back and cue up your next track.

Yeah, R.C., You've got to be brutal with these extremely long tracks that do nothing but send you to "la-la-land"!

This is yet another rehash of old Beatles cuts masquerading as a "new" album simply by the inclusion of the somewhat(and unnecessarily) over-long "Hey Jude". All those la-la-la's at the end do have a reptilian effect, they make the song "drag on"(dragon - get it?).

Note this is an American issue, probably put out be the equally despicable KKK, their poisonous ideologies are similar even if they're not entirely united in their disgusting traditions. Maybe these(one label only) should be shown to tell the world these cretins are still "out there" and haven't yet slithered back under the rock from whence they came.

Procul Harum's Whiter Shade Of Pale, was there an actual proper stereo mix of this? Because in just about any compilation you see it included, it's always this so-called "electronically re-processed for stereo" version which always turns up. Makes me wonder if it ever was done in stereo at all.

Yes, R.C. but she wasn't doing "that" song, and besides, that other song you mentioned came out on RCA-Victor.
