rhythmdog ● 2nd May 2022 | | 78 RPMCarolyn Hayes And The Four Tops - Baby Say You Love Me / Really | I believe this its the first appearance of the Motown group on a record.
rhythmdog ● 29th Apr 2022 | | 78 RPMThe Thrillers - I'm Going To Live My Life Alone / Lessy Mae | This was apparently also issued as Thrillers OP-167, although evidence of the existence of that release is very scant. If so, it would likely be a 4 Star pressing, based on the "OP" designation. The number 3530 is Joe Von Battle's store's street address, if I remember correctly.

rhythmdog ● 20th Apr 2022 | | 78 RPMConnie Francis - Stupid Cupid / Lipstick On Your Collar | Rhino released a couple of box sets of "Juke Box Classics" for juke box collectors in 1989 and thereafter. Perhaps it stimulated the bootleggers to make items like this and 16 Candles- The Rhino box sets aren't yet well-documented here, but even when they have labels that look somewhat like the original labels, they have numbers like R1-78000 [1-25], or R1-78003 [1-25] on the labels.

rhythmdog ● 14th Apr 2022 | | 78 RPMThe Thrillers [Herald] - Please Talk To Me / 'Lizabeth | Although Herald announced the signing of this group "from Detroit", they are apparently completely unrelated to the Thrillers who did "The Drunkard" and who became The 5 Jets.

rhythmdog ● 14th Apr 2022 | | 78 RPMThe Muskateers - Deep In My Heart / Love Me Til Your Dying Day | Deep In My Heart is the same song (although a different take) as Goodbye My Love by the Musketeers on Roxy 801

rhythmdog ● 3rd Apr 2022 | | 78 RPMThe 4 Deuces - W-P-L-J / Here Lies My Love | The seller of the multicolor variation said the flip was as on the originals: "Here Lies My Love". There are numerous 45 releases with the multicolor label but all of them I have seen have one of several other flip sides. Not a one with the multicolor on 45 has "Here Lies My Love" on the label, however, at least one with the plain black label on the "W-P-L-J" side, with the mullticolor label on the other side showing The Klixs as the other side, actually plays "Here Lies My Love"...
rhythmdog ● 3rd Apr 2022 | | 78 RPMGolden West Singers And The Elder In Charge - Healing Prayer | The seller of this item dated it to 1956, but this label design was not in use until 1957. On the other hand, with it having a higher number than the other known 78 in the short series that seems to begin with Music City 882 and end with this record, the others all have the "Berkeley 3, Calif." as part of the silver print (i.e., the print added to the blanks at the time of pressing), so there is a faint chance it came much later - perhaps as late as 1964.. To add to that, a group of the same name on Music City put out the last release on the label, in 1976.
