SeverlyWarpedRecord 5th Dec 2021		Vinyl Album Zig Ziglar - Biscuits, Fleas, And Pump Handles	Stuff like this is why I love thrift stores. A very interesting record, and it’s signed too! I think this record is a little rare, it’s not on here or discogs. I’m not sure of the date or the country it was made in. If I had to guess, this was probably released in the early 60s, I just can’t see something like this being made in the 50s or any later than 1967. It was probably pressed in America but was given out at speeches that Zig made, but if somebody can figure out if this was a speech made in Winnipeg or Canada than it’d be a Canadian issue most likely

The image is from the copy sitting in the jukebox at Half Moon in Lockport Manitoba, just outside of Winnipeg. They have a broken 1938 78 jukebox with all the original records and this record is just sitting on the platter of the jukebox like it’s nothing

Id consider that record the first rock record released in Canada

SeverlyWarpedRecord 31st Oct 2021		Vinyl Album Bobby Vinton - Roses Are Red	Has anybody ever seen Bobby Vintons first 2 LPs? I’m a big fan of his and Id love to have a copy of one. From what I’ve heard they did terrible and are extremely rare now. The back of this album doesn’t even show a picture of those albums and his next albums don’t even mention them. If you think about it though the failure was on Columbia’s part, letting an unknown rock singer put out 2 LPs before they even record a single for you is just stupid

I still have his copy that he used to play at parties. The popularity of this was probably due to Howard Manstein on CFRW and the college radio, he used to play a lot of obscure British records. I guess that explains why I find so many copies of this ‘rare’ record here.

Anthony on Butterlfy was Dick Clark were some say another Duo wrote it. Not sure about Forget Him though. I do know that Dick Clark did use the M. Anthony crediting though.

I think he left the group in like 1956 or 1957 though and became the big saxophone guy known for Wheels, Sail Along The Silvery Moon, and Raunchy.

SeverlyWarpedRecord 15th Aug 2021		Vinyl Album The Beatles - Beatlemania! With The Beatles	This was definitely a welcomed sight when the woman at my local MCC handed me the stack of unpriced LPs lol. Got it for 75 cents but the LP of Rubber Soul is inside. There was also Twist and Shout, but again there was another copy of Rubber Soul inside for some reason. I guess after that I should have checked every record in the stack for the right LP, but I doubt Guy Lombardo and Supertramp had The Beatles inside.

My copy of this album has a drill mark like the one in the images and I have a few others albums made by Quality with the same drill mark. I’ve heard that stores used to do this to Half priced records, but I don’t see them on records from the same periods by artists like Herb Alpert or Harry Belafonte.
