Vinyl Album
The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour Plus Other Songs
First pressings of this apparently have the mock stereo mixes of tracks B3-B5, so its' identical to the US version.

2nd pressing onwards is all true stereo.

Cassette Album
The Beatles - Abbey Road
It has "An EMI Recording" and the standard printing and copyright notices, but as with many of the early 1970's pressings of other official Beatles albums on cassette, there is no actual logo (EMI, Parlophone nor Apple). The Parlophone logo is even blanked out from the covers of the gold editions of "With the Beatles" and "Help!".

Cassette Album
The Beatles - Yellow Submarine
This would have been the first issue of this album on any tape format in the UK as there was apparently no reel to reel version.

Cassette Album
The Beatles - Past Masters Volume Two
I think Volumes 1 & 2 should be listed as a single entry as the two volumes were not sold separately and are titled "Volumes One & Two" on both inlays. The Beatles Monthly magazine confirms that it was released on cassette on 24th October 1988, a week before it was also included in the cassette box set issued on 31st October 1988.

Cassette Album
The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
This was the first Beatles 'XDR' re-issue on 1st June 1987, the rest of the regular Beatles albums were all re-issued on 19th November 1987. "Past Masters" was released the following year, the double cassette delayed until 24th October 1988.

Original pressings of the XDR cassette albums did not include an Apple logo, these were added circa 1992/93.

The Beatles - Help!
Full set of scans added.

This is a re-pressing circa 1977-82.

Cassette Album
The Beatles - Let It Be
Original pressings have a Parlophone logo on the labels, re-pressings have no logo.

The Beatles - Abbey Road
Although this was an Apple release on vinyl, there's no mention of Apple at all or any sign of the logo on the original cassette version, so I've listed it as an EMI label release.

The Beatles - 1962-1966 [The Red Album]
Added an original paper label pressing.

A classmate gave me this tape, apparently to make some sort of statement after he'd decided that Duran Duran were better than The Beatles. I had all of the tracks already but was happy to accept the gesture and not be drawn into an argument.

The Beatles - 1967-1970 [The Blue Album]
Added cassette shell scans. My first Beatles purchase. This was a late 1970's re-pressing, the originals would have had paper labels.

The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
I never liked the way they artificially looped and then faded the 'Inner Groove', it was only those who didn't have an automatic pick-up that would have heard it that way on vinyl (but not with a fade out of course). On the 1968 and 1970's gold UK cassette versions you heard it once only, which is how it should have been presented on the CD IMHO. Sadly the looped effect was also applied to the 2009 CD's.

Simon And Garfunkel - Simon And Garfunkel's Greatest Hits
The first pre-recorded cassette I ever bought, I found it in my local supermarket in 1978. I was filling up blank cassettes with Top 40 disco and punk/new wave hits at the time, so this was something a bit different, an album I'd heard a few times previously when visiting a relative.

"For Emily", "Feelin' Groovy", "Homeward Bound" and "Kathy's Song" are all live in concert versions and some of the tracks are cross-faded.

I'm assuming this is a re-pressing circa 1976, the original pressings presumably having paper labels.

Various Artists - Vertigo Annual 1970
It was released in October 1970 (advertised in the music papers that month).
Very good compilation that introduced me to Nucleus and Manfred Mann Chapter Three.

Somebody has uploaded the back page of the booklet as the cover. Added the correct cover plus the disc.

George Harrison - Dark Horse
Standard German Apple labels on my copy and a plain white inner sleeve (so no musician details) but the lyric sheet was included. Bought on import in 1984.

George Harrison - Living In The Material World
Standard German Apple labels on my copy and no printed inner sheet (bought from The Beatles Shop in Liverpool in 1985).

Ringo Starr - Ringo's Rotogravure
Added the labels.

It was almost impossible to find Ringo's albums in the UK in the mid 1980's, I ended up with 2nd hand US imports of both this and "Ringo the 4th".

Paul McCartney - McCartney
Added the Capitol label re-issue (1976) which may warrant a separate entry(?) but the cat no. is the same.

Vinyl Album
George Harrison And Friends - The Concert For Bangla Desh
Added all six labels. The album was designed to be stacked - so sides 1 & 6 are coupled together on the first disc, then sides 2 & 5 and finally sides 3 & 4, all housed in light brown sleeves (same colour as the box) with holes for the labels.

The Byrds - Fifth Dimension
Added the 16 page booklet. The best Byrds album for me (particularly with the bonus tracks added to this CD).

Coincidentally, John Riley (title of track 10) was also the name of the dentist who gave Beatle John and Beatle George LSD for the first time in Spring 1965. Members of The Byrds and The Beatles then tripped on LSD together in the August of that year.

Vinyl Album
Cream - Live Cream
Re-issued as a "special price" LP with a large sticker on the right hand side, which was not easy to peel off, I was left with a sticky cover that stuck to the back of my "Led Zeppelin I" LP.

John And Yoko - Wedding Album
Added label scans. The most expensive vinyl LP I ever bought, £35 in January 1988. The penultimate album to completing my solo Beatles collection.

Vinyl Album
John Lennon And Yoko Ono - Two Virgins
Unlike the British release, there's no break down of the two sides on either the sleeve or the label, so I've entered the tracks simply as "Side 1" and "Side 2". I'm fairly certain that this is a 1980's re-issue, if so probably unofficial, it was presented in an outer brown bag with a section of John and Yoko's face area printed on the front and back of it with Genesis Chapter 2 also printed on the back. McCartney's quote is on the front of the nude cover. Plain white inner sleeve.

Vinyl Album
John Lennon And Yoko Ono - Unfinished Music No.2: Life With The Lions
Bought this new in London in April 1986, so I'm presuming it's a re-pressing, though it has the inner bag with the track information and a thick card sleeve.

George Harrison - Wonderwall Music
Curiously, the sliced apple is on the A side whilst the full apple is on the reverse. Bought in April 1986 and came with the info sheet.

Vinyl Album
George Harrison - Electronic Sound
Added the labels, 1980s pressing with a transparent plastic inner sleeve and single sided info sheet, all in Japanese. This was the one missing solo Beatle album from my collection until I bought this on import for £22 in August 1988.

George Harrison - All Things Must Pass
Added disc 2 variation which, on my copy (bought June 1987), has the same ring-less design as disc 1.

CD Album
George Harrison - The Best Of George Harrison
Added an alternate back cover (sans the Apple logo) and alternate disc (without the ring). I bought my copy in June 1987, so presumably the Apple was added around the same time it was added to the Beatles CD's circa 1992/93.

George Harrison - The Apple Years 1968
Are they sticking with the drastic 2001 re-mix of the "All Things Must Pass" album?
