The_Vinyl_Junkie SUBS ● 3rd Jun 2015 | | CD AlbumAmbient Temple Of Imagination - Planetary House Nation | Ambient Temple Of Imagination will take you on a gentle head trip while shamanistic tribal drum beats play in the background. This was recorded live at The Gathering Winter Solstice 5 Year Anniversary Yule celebration on 21/12/96 in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The_Vinyl_Junkie SUBS ● 22nd May 2015 | | TVDoctor Who (1963 - Now) | I have been a fan since the original series with William Hartnell.
Patrick Troughton has my vote for favorite.
The new series from Christopher Eccleston onwards just doesn't match up to the originals.
With all that has been said here there is no mention of the "official" one-off sendup with Rowan Atkinson as The Doctor.

The_Vinyl_Junkie SUBS ● 21st May 2015 | | CD AlbumAlabama - Mountain Music | I am pretty sure I purchased this from a local shop in Perth, West Australia.
Since the CD was made in Japan and all the printing done in USA and not a mention of Australia anywhere I went with Japan for the country.

The_Vinyl_Junkie SUBS ● 3rd Mar 2015 | | Classical ItemGiuseppe Di Stefano - Excerpts From Cavalleria Rusticana | The Composer shown on the label is "(Mascagni-Targioni, Tozzetti & Menasci)"
The one-act opera "Cavalleria Rusticana" was written by Pietro Mascagni. He was rescued from obscurity by the sudden success of his opera, which won first prize in a competition instituted in 1889 by the publisher Sonzogno, and was produced at the Costanzi Theatre in Rome, May 17, 1890.
The liberetto, text by Menasci and Targioni-Tozetti, was based upon a story of Sicilian village life by Giovanni Verga.

The_Vinyl_Junkie SUBS ● 3rd Mar 2015 | | 12" SingleAusten Tayshus - Australiana | This is the original pressing. It was quickly replaced with a BLANK "B" side as there was a major community upset over the content of the "B" side, which I must admit is @*%^$!) terrible.
The sleeve images were done on an Epson V37 scanner using the ArcSoft program "Scan-n-Stitch Deluxe".
|
The_Vinyl_Junkie SUBS ● 6th Feb 2015 | | Music Memorabilia[none] - 7" Inner Plastic Sleeve | It came with a bulk buy done locally in Perth Western Australia.
I know absolutely nothing about it apart from the fact it is over-length with about an inch and a half hanging out of a standard record sleeve.

The_Vinyl_Junkie SUBS ● 19th Jan 2015 | | CD AlbumButthole Surfers - Piouhgd | As far as I'm concerned they only had one good track - "Pepper"
|
The_Vinyl_Junkie SUBS ● 10th Jan 2015 | | CD AlbumVarious Artists - Super Hits Of The '70s: Have A Nice Day, Vol. 5 | They were available in Australia, distributed by "Shock". I was given the first five volumes by the West Oz wholesale outlet.
As henry29's mine were also individually jewel cased.

The_Vinyl_Junkie SUBS ● 9th Jan 2015 | | CD AlbumMotörhead - No Remorse | On the original release of the Bronze single in Sept 1982 the "A" side was Stand By Your Man - Wendy & Lemmy. The "B" side was 1. No Class - Plasmatics, 2. Masterplan - Motorhead.
This makes me wonder about track "2-16" on the CD.
"No Class" was a track pulled from their (Plasmatics) Capitol album "Coup D'Etat".

The_Vinyl_Junkie SUBS ● 4th Dec 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beatles - Supertracks | This is not a true "TMOQ" label logo. This album was actually issued by "CBM" cat # 1018.
TMOQ were renouned for being the best bootleg quality produced LP's at the time.
Also this pressing is shy of a couple of tracks that were on the original issue through Highway High Fi Collector's Edition Records HHCER 102.

The_Vinyl_Junkie SUBS ● 3rd Dec 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumLed Zeppelin - BBC Broadcast | The "B3" Medley: Whole Lotta Love; Boogie Woogie; That's Alright My Momma; Stop What's That Sound/ Minnesota Blues.
The "Hot Wacks" reference gives the source as "1971 Royal Albert Hall".

|
The_Vinyl_Junkie SUBS ● 7th Nov 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Soundtrack Of The 60s | Details are a bit sketchy where a segment involved an interview. Excerpts of various songs were played and the segment finished with a full length track appropriate to the interview. Details were not supplied on the sheet but notes have been pencilled in probably by the local station's DJ.
This made it difficult for entry onto the site - just did the best I could.

The_Vinyl_Junkie SUBS ● 1st Nov 2014 | | Vinyl AlbumOdetta - Sings Ballads And Blues | Fantastic album, just had to get the re-issue on cd. Her recordings on the Tradition label were definitely the best.
Saw her in Perth, West Australia many years ago and met her backstage after the concert.
Odetta gained the record of having the biggest single audience ever for a solo performer in Perth.

The_Vinyl_Junkie SUBS ● 8th Feb 2013 | | 78 RPMWoody Herman - Woodchoppers Ball / The Golden Wedding | From my research Festival didn't exist until 1952.
Woody Herman's first LP was "Sequence In Jazz" (Columbia 1949) and "Woodchoppers Ball" is listed as Decca 1955. This was a compilation of earlier recordings (40's) with Decca. There were about 24 tracks put down of which only 4 or 5 were released on 78's in the 40's.
Prior to LP's he had recorded a lot of his classics during the 30's thru 40's on 78's.

The_Vinyl_Junkie SUBS ● 5th Feb 2013 | | 78 RPMBessie And Ralph Eades With Edgar Pougnault - La Cumparsita / The Rosary | Hi mickey rat, the answer is no - the groove becomes never ending after completion of the music.
I have burnt a copy onto cd and it was played at my mother's funeral.
|
The_Vinyl_Junkie SUBS ● 3rd Feb 2013 | | 78 RPMBessie And Ralph Eades With Edgar Pougnault - La Cumparsita / The Rosary | I was only a little kid when my parents recorded this, probably very early 50's. I can always remember Mum saying "I played a wrong note there" whenever "The Rosary" was played.
Ralph Eades and Edgar Pougnault played Spanish Guitars (acoustic).
Bessie Eades played a Lap Steel Guitar (electric) built by Ralph.
