Oh,I get it. I prefer it this way, less typing on this tiny phone keyboard, too. I just got used to the 45 side of doing things. Less work the better, especially since it looks like I could add 20,000 titles easily, unless the other members get it in gear :)

To follow up on what Mike said - it was decided near the beginning of the 78rpm site being started that things like 'and his orchestra' didn't help much, as the personnel varied depending on the date the recording was made. But there were certain combinations with a fairly fixed lineup with titles like 'and his Rumba Band' which we do list.

I understand what you mean, Dewey. But there was a time when a moderator had to inform me to do things a certain way, so I have pass it on to others.

There were many bandleaders like Bob Crosby or Vaughn Monroe, for example that continued as singers without their orchestra in the postwar year, usually backed by a studio group. That’s why adding their band/ orchestra title made sense to me. Or say, Jimmy or Tommy Dorsey and Fats Waller recording solo pieces before ever leading a band. I thought the distinction would be necessary. I suppose that makes linking all the artists various incarnations tedious. Actually, I wish discogs linked everything. They are impossible to navigate because of it

@ Mike Gann -Okay. I was posting what’s on the label, figuring one would do that in a search. Things work differently on this side. On the 45 side, I’d be chastised for omitting.

@ Dewey Gill. Please be so kind not to add "And His Band"/"And His Orchestra".
