First time a female singer appeared on a Kaye disc, and it was a one time shot. Elaine Beatty was the the winner of a talent contest held by the Cincinnati Coin-Op Association. The prize was a Kaye recording date. Blessed with good material. great pipes and excellent phrasing, she pulls the date off nicely. This didn’t seem to bud an expected career, though, and she was really not heard from again. Petrillo’s ban locking musicians out of recording studios after July 31 probably didn’t help.
