Columbia A3100 seriesIn October 1920, when its popular series (A-prefix) was about to reach A-3000, Columbia jumped ahead by 400 numbers to A3300 and carved out an A3100 number block to create a special series of Educational records. This series included so-called "Indian" music (Classical music in the European style with Native American motifs composed by so-called Nativist composers trying to created a "native" American Classical music), but also other popular Classical pieces that were thought to appeal to children. Originally, the series was billed as "New Educational Records for the Home, Kindergarten and Primary Grades." By the February 1921 issue of The Talking Machine World, page 182, the emphasis of the series seems had shifted slightly because then it was promoted instead as "Band Records For Community Singing."List of 4 Gramophones by xiphophilos
