Bamboo 20th Jan 2020 | | 78 RPMBlackpool Tower Orchestra - Three O'Clock In The Morning / Glissando (1920) | 'A' and 'B' side label variations added.

Bamboo 18th Jan 2020 | | 78 RPMNellie Melba - Aubade (1906) | Ah - very interesting indeed.
So, allowing for inflation from the 1910's, compared to Caruso, the cost of a Melba was a mere bagatelle. (About £ 80 to £ 100 in today's money apparently ?).
Thanks very much scrough.
Bamboo 17th Jan 2020 | | 78 RPMNellie Melba - Aubade (1906) | 21 Shillings (One Guinea) seems a lot to pay for a record in 1906.
Perhaps it was sold at one of her concerts ?
Bamboo 5th Jan 2020 | | 78 RPMThe Biltmore Players - When Its Moonlight By Killarney / Betty Co-Ed (1931) | 'A' Side Label Added - There were / are two 'B' Side Labels up-loaded previously / currently.
Bamboo 5th Jan 2020 | | 78 RPMMimosa Military Band - Territorial March / The Toy Drum Major | With reference to the following website:
http://www.mgthomas.co.uk/Records/LabelPages/Mimosa.htm
The Label I have up-loaded is a 'Type 2, Early P Series, 5 and a half inch' record.
The Label previously up-loaded is a later 'Type 3 Series' which I assume is also 5 and a half inches.
Interesting that two different labels were used for this record.
Bamboo 2nd Jan 2020 | | 78 RPMLondon Fire Brigade Band - Morning, Noon And Night (Part II) / Picardy (1926) | I would say '88' as the 'A' Side here is 'Part 2' and the 'Part 1' appeared on record number '87' according to this website:
http://www.mgthomas.co.uk/Records/LabelPages/Mimosa.htm
unless part 2 was released before part one which I think is unlikely.
Oooooooooh ! It DOES seem to say '86' ! I will upload a close up photo. How odd ?
Bamboo 30th Dec 2019 | | 78 RPM[no artist listed] - Patsy's Hilarity / The Old Top Hat That Father Wore | According to this website 'Type 2' Labels (Early 'P' Series) were double sided 5 and a half inch - like this one and many others I have.
Could this size be added I wonder ?

Bamboo 30th Dec 2019 | | 78 RPM[no artist listed] - Patsy's Hilarity / The Old Top Hat That Father Wore | This record is actually 5 and a half inches wide.
This does not seem to be available as a choice when up-loading / adding a new 78, so could this size be added please ?
Bamboo 7th Dec 2019 | | 78 RPMCarl Brisson - Let Me Hold Your Hand, Dear / When The Love Bird Leaves The Nest (1927) | Aha ! Very interesting indeed.

Bamboo 7th Dec 2019 | | 78 RPMLayton And Johnstone - Just Another Love Affair / The Clouds Will Soon Roll By (1931) | 'A' and 'B' Side label variations added.
For example: 'A' and 'B' side differ with the wording below 'Columbia'.
'B' Side Label has different sequence with the three printed 'stamps' near the bottom.
Bamboo 7th Dec 2019 | | 78 RPMDebroy Somers Band - The Wedding Of The Painted Doll / Wake Up ! Chill'un, Wake Up ! (1929) | 'B' Side Label Added.
Bamboo 7th Dec 2019 | | 78 RPMCarl Brisson - Let Me Hold Your Hand, Dear / When The Love Bird Leaves The Nest (1927) | Side 'A': I wonder who the composer "The Apache' was and how s/he became known as that ?
Bamboo 1st Dec 2019 | | 78 RPMStreet Barrel Organ - Funiculi, Funicula / Tesoro Mio (1931) | That is really great ! Thanks xiphophilos.

Bamboo 25th Nov 2019 | | 78 RPMThe Very Rev. H. R. L. Sheppard - Let Me Enjoy This 'Ere War In Peace / The Relevance Of Christianity (1930) | Quite possibly and thank you scrough.
Bamboo 25th Nov 2019 | | 78 RPMBessie Jones - In Lavender Time / Molly Kennedy (1923) | Interestingly, although this record was made in England, it seems to have 'made its way' to France (and back) - as it has some sort of French stamp attached to the 'A' side label.
Quelle surprise !
Bamboo 25th Nov 2019 | | 78 RPMThe Very Rev. H. R. L. Sheppard - Let Me Enjoy This 'Ere War In Peace / The Relevance Of Christianity (1930) | Hand written record sleeve notes added.
Interestingly, these notes (may) seem to date the record release as the 31st March 1930. If so, then this contradicts the dating software, which states release during April 1930.
Also, I wonder why the notes seem to read '... warm in peace' instead of '... war in peace' for the 'A' side ?
I also wonder why the notes don't refer to 'the artist' as a 'Very Reverend' - only as 'Reverend'.
Bamboo 25th Nov 2019 | | 78 RPMThe Very Rev. H. R. L. Sheppard - Let Me Enjoy This 'Ere War In Peace / The Relevance Of Christianity (1930) | 'A' and 'B' Side Labels added.

Bamboo 17th Nov 2019 | | 78 RPMH.M. Coldstream Guards - Bugle Calls Of The British Army. No. Ill / Bugle Calls Of The Bristish Army. No. IV (1916) | I find it interesting that HMV record B 593 states that J. Mackenzie-Rogan is a Lieutenant Colonel (Presumably recently promoted) whereas this record states he is a Major.
Both records were issued in the same month and year and yet B 593 is at least technically an earlier release number to this one.
