LaurenceD SUBS 27th May 2021		78 RPM Bill Pannell - I'm Goin' Back To Dayton / Empty Dreams (1948)	"Allen King" appears to be a variant spelling of Allan King, who was a frequent vocalist for Bill Pannell. My copy is pressed on an ochre-colored material, which I presume is Memolite, introduced by Memo in 1948, so I have set the release year accordingly, given no other information about this issue.

LaurenceD SUBS 27th Feb 2021		78 RPM [no artist listed] - The Girl From Atlantic City / Her First Swimming Lesson	The b-side is a recording by female impersonator Ray Bourbon, originally released on Western Record Co. Bourbana WR-717. This Good-Humor label seems to have specialized in pirated copies of adult comedy recordings, omitting the original performer credits. Note the matrix numbers on the releases. I would like to be able to cross-reference some more of these Good-Humor releases... David Diehl's "Blue Pages" site at hensteeth.com has much useful information, but unfortunately seems to be no longer available. I wonder if there is an archived copy.

My cover has some differences as well: the binding is black rather than red; and there is no advert on the inside rear cover. I read George Avakian's remarks in the liner notes regarding "Sweet Sue" about the transfer from its original 12-inch release (Columbia 50103-D); He states that the intro was dropped for this pressing, but it sounds like the whole track to me - I timed it at ~ 4:30
