moondog 31st Aug 2015		78 RPM Penny Nicholls - Love's A Gamble / I'm Saying A Prayer (1954)	Planet Records made a bid for the Woolworth's franchise for issuing "hits of the day" style records but lost out to Oriole who started their new label Embassy. As a result and soon after Planet folded.

moondog 9th Apr 2015		78 RPM Alan Kent - Gina / More (1956)	This is a super record for its time with Alan K in fine voice and a great tune. Orchestration is helped along with an accordion. I reckon it could have been a hit on a major label but consigned to obscurity on rare Polydor. Does anyone have any info on Alan or even a picture?

There are loads of these records and they are mostly terrible!

moondog 21st May 2014		78 RPM Jerry Lee Lewis - Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On / It'll Be Me (1957)	In the 50s I used to own HL 8142 Bill Haley's Green Tree Boogie and that was a black & gold London copy. I recall it well as it was the only London 78 that I had like it. Sadly it was lent to a mate who broke it.
