The Coasters - Yakety Yak / Zing! Went The Strings Of My Heart (1958)
Totally agree with you - it's a great track and it's even better in real stereo available on some CD re-issues.

Lonnie Donegan - My Old Man's A Dustman (Ballad Of A Refuse Disposal Officer) / The Golden Vanity (1960)
Since the Pye Nixa label changed to Pye in 1959 I did not expect to see this record under the Nixa listing. Could leaf1960 confirm what label his copy was issued under?

The Diamonds - Faithful And True / Little Darlin' (1957)
Early Top Ranks were also on vinyl but I assume because they used the Pye pressing plant.

Vernon Dalhart - The Chain Gang Song / In The Big Rock Candy Mountain (1936)
This and 44 other records are listed under HMV. Shouldn't they all be transferred to His Master's Voice where they rightly belong and the HMV list deleted.

Caterina Valente With Chet Baker - I Remember April / Everytime We Say Goodbye (1956)
Correct title for A-side is: I'll Remember April.

Caterina was an accomplished jazz guitarist which this record demonstrates. A star of many talents indeed.

Alan Kent - Believe In Me / You Above All (1956)
Alan Kent was a Scottish tenor with a similar style to David Whitfield.
The Polydor 78s recorded in the UK are very hard to find as they sold very few copies.

Somethin' Smith And The Redheads - I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire / You Made Me Love You (1958)
Fontana's 78 series ran from H 100 (1958) to H 235 (1960) so well over 200 issues.

Lonnie Donegan And His Skiffle Group - Putting On The Style / Gamblin' Man (1957)
Interesting that this record starts with an edited fade-in but re-issues on CD give the full unedited intro with Lonnie making a mess of his banjo picking.

Glenn Miller - Wham (Re-Bop-Boom-Bam) / A Handful Of Stars (1954)
The OA matrix number shows that A Handful of Stars is the A-side as it was a much later recording - in this case 1940. The OA numbers are in fact the US Victor matrix numbers.
HMV used O to stand for 10 inch (a common prefix) and A for American.

Glenn Miller - Blue Moonlight / Melancholy Lullaby (1951)
Strangely the BD series number is also shown on the label as BD 5822 which was issued in Nov 1943. What was the purpose of the MH series - perhaps export only?
