Eddie Calvert - Cherry Pink (And Apple Blossom White) / Roses Of Picardy (1955)
Who on earth would pay £21 for a 78 of this type? I can't believe that valuation is close to being right.

Alfred Sasson - Anyone Can Smile / There's A New Star In Heaven To-Night (1926)
This 78 is an oddity. It has no connection with the regular Capitol label which it pre-dates.
I understand it is known as a paste-over label for sale in Australia and it is likely to be a Parlophone label underneath and comes from the 1920s. The B side has a tear which seems to confirm this.

Lonnie Donegan And His Skiffle Group - My Dixie Darling / I'm Just A Rollin' Stone (1957)
Because I'm a born cynic I have to ask Denis247 where he got his info on this record being made in Plymouth toilets.
Joe Meek didn't need to use such facilities for echo as his engineer skills were such that he could do anything in the mixing room back at IBC studios.

This doesn't sound like Joe Meek to my ears - where is the echo?

Vaughn Monroe - Riders In The Sky / Red Roses For A Blue Lady (1949)
I am very puzzled by the valuation here. I would never expect to pay more than say a fiver for a 78 of this type - good version though it is.
My nice copy cost £1 not long ago.

The Duchess - Ragging The Scale / Kitten On The Keys (1953)
Only 7 records in the UK London L series were issued at 45rpm and this is not one of them - unless of course a scan can be provided as proof.

Rita Williams - I Remember Mama / I Don't Want To Be Lonely Tonight (1955)
There is little point in questioning the existence of records simply because no-one has uploaded a scan.

This record is in the Embassy catalogue as issued in July 1955.

However I do question your username which I hope is genuine - if not you should change it.

Robert Earl - I May Never Pass This Way Again / Someone (1958)
According to the late producer Adrian Kerridge this 45 was engineered by Joe Meek.

As it happens it sounds like it too.

Cherry Wainer - Valencia / Blue Cha Cha (1958)
Definitely not for an LP stylus. These records were of course from 78 stampers (some were issued in both shellac and vinyl) and it's the groove size which dictates the stylus size.

The advantage of vinyl issues were they were unbreakable (generally) and in my view were more durable and less noisy with normal playing ie with a 78 diamond stylus.

Goodness knows what a wind-up gramophone with steel needles did to them though...

My first vinyl 78 came from Gary Miller in Jan 1957.

Top Rank also issued a few vinyl 78 versions.

Will Bradley Trio - The 1943 Super Rhythm Style Series, No. 111 & 112 (1943)
The 1943 date is the UK issue date - the recordings were originally from 1940 and 1941 respectively.

This record would in my view top the list of "bad Londons" - if there was such a list.

One of the many great London double-siders. B-side is just as good.

These two tracks come from the Fidelity label which was based in Sydney, Australia.
This appears to be a one-off in the London catalogue.

Joe Potzner's Quartette - Red Hot Mama / Three Cent Stamp (1950)
I doubt if anyone has the UK London 78 but the US version clearly states what alan45 says.
ie Joe Potzner's Quartette. Vocalist Kathlean Kohls (note spelling of Kathlean)

The original uploader was incorrect - even the RIS "London" listing shows Joe Potzner's Quartette.

There is no evidence for listing under Kathlean Kohls.

Ritchie Valens - Come On Let's Go / Dooby Dooby Wah (1958)
Discographies show this 45/78 was issued in Nov 58 and it takes a very brave person to say that it wasn't.

Bob Keane (Del-Fi owner) licensed this to Pye Int and there is every good reason to think that he considered Dooby Dooby Wah was a better flip for the UK issue as it's more Valens-like in style.

"Framed" was a old Leiber/Stoller r&b comedy song from the Robins (pre-Coasters) and arguably not suited to Valens high voice especially the talk lines in the song.

The LP shows Keane, under his real name of Kuhn, co-wrote Dooby so maybe royalties came into it too. Bob Keane as label owner/producer was in a position to do whatever he wanted with Valens' catalogue - which he sure did.

Charlie Kunz - Kunz Revivals, No.1 (1937)
This is No 1 in the series of 26 Kunz Revivals which issued previous releases on the Sterno (1-8) and Rex (9-26). Most are straight re-issues but at least 3 mix sides from two 78s.
