nboldock 26th Nov 2014 | | 78 RPMThe Gremlins With The Ron Grainer Sextet - Who's Sorry Now / The Drawl | I know you're not supposed to get the band wet or feed them after midnight.
Does that help?
nboldock 11th Nov 2014 | | 78 RPMCity Of Birmingham Orchestra - Faust (1946) | First disc of a two disc set. I don't have the other one.
nboldock 22nd Oct 2014 | | 78 RPMMaggie Stott - The Singing Mill Girl (1935) | There is a copy for sale on Ebay, the selling price is cheap (£2.50) though it's in the UK (and I see you are in Australia) so the shipping may set you back quite a bit (and you'd need to cross your fingers that it arrives in one piece). Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be on YouTube at the moment.
Hope you manage to get hold of it somehow.
Here's the Ebay link - click.

nboldock 20th Oct 2014 | | 78 RPMNora Brockstedt - Det Som Skjer, Det Skjer (Que Sera, Sera) / Jolie Jaqueline (1957) | Seems reasonable to me.

nboldock 22nd Jun 2014 | | 78 RPMChris. Hall - Meet Me In My Dreams Tonight / Tribute To Our Aero Heroine A M Y (1930) | Anybody know anything about this guy? Picked up a copy of this at a car boot sale today. Keen to find out who Chris Hall was but nothing much suggesting itself via Google.
Incidentally the labels are dark blue but the scanner has made them look black.
nboldock 18th Jun 2014 | | 78 RPMGlenn Miller - Take The "A" Train / Pennsylvania Six-Five-Thousand (1953) | Absolutely! Very nice it is too.
nboldock 27th May 2014 | | 78 RPMChuck Berry - Sweet Little Sixteen / Reelin' And Rockin' (1958) | Found this at a boot sale yesterday for pence, and was just about to celebrate our good fortune when we discovered it was cracked :-(
Bah!
nboldock 7th May 2014 | | 78 RPMThe Beatles - Lady Madonna / The Inner Light (1968) | The unicorn applies for records that were scheduled for release but never made it (for whatever reason).
If a record simply does not exist (and was never scheduled to exist), then the unicorn isn't really right. I think it should stay as it is for now. If we can prove it doesn't exist, then for me it gets deleted. However (and I think we would all prefer this outcome) if we can prove that it DOES exist, well...
nboldock 7th May 2014 | | 78 RPMPaul Robeson - Joe Hill / John Brown's Body (1956) | Yeah, I bet they are. Great work. Marvellous things.
nboldock 7th May 2014 | | 78 RPMPaul Robeson - Joe Hill / John Brown's Body (1956) | These Topic 78s are fantastic, fokeman. How on earth did you manage to find them all?!

nboldock 29th Apr 2014 | | 78 RPMKitty, Daisy And Lewis - Messing With My Life / Coco Nuts (2011) | Does anyone know if this is microgroove or not - we've just got a copy and wondering whether it should be played with the standard 78 stylus or flip over and use the normal one? There are no clues on the sleeve that I can see.
nboldock 3rd Apr 2014 | | 78 RPM[no artist listed] - English Train Starting, In Motion And Stopping / American Train Starting, In Motion And Stopping (1929) | You have to wonder what on earth the point of these things was, if they weren't even the real sounds!

nboldock 13th Dec 2013 | | 78 RPMThe B.B.C. Symphony Orchestra - The Planets Suite, Op. 32. Records 10, 11. (1945) | Agreed, "parts" or "sides" would be clearer.
nboldock 18th Nov 2013 | | 78 RPMSid Phillips - Runnin' Wild / Mammy O'Mine (1955) | "Runnin' Wild" is a frankly bonkers freeform jazz wig-out (not really what I was expecting!). "Mammy O' Mine" is more traditional Big Band fayre.
nboldock 11th Nov 2013 | | 78 RPMPaddy Ryan - The Man That Waters The Workers' Beer / The Internationale (1939) | They're great. I like the Ewan MacColl one too... in fact I might have to get me one!
