Who says you can’t release a Christmas record in summer?

This record was entered here as released on 28 Nov 1942, but "White Christmas" had already topped Billboard's National Pop charts in October 1942 (first charted week ending Oct 2, reaching #1 three weeks later), a very early seasonal hit indeed. It held the top position for 11 weeks in 1942, returned to the charts in many years (even back to #1 during the holiday seasons of 1945 and 1946), and eventually became the best-selling single of all time (including its re-recording of March 18, 1947, again with the Trotter Orchestra and the Darby Singers). The release date of this record, the original version, was July 30, 1942, when it was part of the six-record album Holiday Inn.

I have this one with it's original sleeve with record prices on the back. Pretty cool.
