xiphophilos 18th Sep 2021		The first version of the Scroll label (images 2751459 and 2751460), with "Orthophonic Recording" to the left of the spindle hole, the musical genre to the right, and the catalog number at the bottom of the label, was used from Fall 1926 to Spring 1928 cf.M. W. Sherman, Collector's Guide to Victor Records, 2nd ed., page 93. [for _new_ recordings only till Spring 1927]. Images 581386 and 581387 are Spring 1928-Spring 1930 Scroll labels with the phrase “Orthophonic Recording” above the Nipper trademark and "For best results, use Victor Needles" to the left of the spindle hole, cf. M. W. Sherman, Collector's Guide to Victor Records, 2nd ed., page 95
