Sterne was Maximilian Marcus Sterne (born Jan. 1853 in Alsace, France - died after 1921 in Amherst, NS, Canada), a piano dealer in Amherst, Nova Scotia, see also https://archive.org/details/historyofsaintan00jackuoft/page/170/mode/2up?q=Sterne The composer of "The Rainbow March" is Louis Maurice.
