Notes

A side (mx. BVE-58530-3) recorded New York, NY, January 28, 1930.
B side (mx. BVE-58529-2) recorded New York, NY, January 28, 1930.
Cutout date: 1934.
(DAHR)

Starting in late Spring 1930, represses leave out the A side's composer credit (Jack Primrose, a pseudonym for music publisher Irving Mills) and instead add the subtitle "Gambler's Blues", reflecting the fact that the song is an American folk song of uncertain origin that exists in different versions.

The original release from March 1930 must have been one of the last Scroll labels with the old company name "Victor Talking Machine Co."

The label that Mike uploaded is an Oakland pressing (see the little "o" above Nipper) from late Spring to Summer 1930 with the new company name "Victor Talking Machine Division - Radio-Victor Corporation of America." (Dates per cf. M. W. Sherman, Collector's Guide to Victor Records, 2nd ed., page 95).

Different A-side label with composer credits (Joe Primrose = Irving Mills) instead of "Gambler's Blues" subtitle is here: https://rateyourmusic.com/release/single/gene_austin/st__james_infirmary_blues___after_youve_gone/
Don't know which one came first.
