This record must have been released in late July 1936, see my comments on Decca 23002.

Just read Groovy's comment here, which leads me to clarify once more that the dates on Online Discographical Project (www.78discography.com) are the recording dates (although for some smaller labels estimated release months seem to appear).

As said before, both sides of Decca 23006 were recorded in 1936 without doubt. Only a few records of the 23000 Personality Series were recorded before 1939 though, most of these apparently not in the USA, so it is highly unlikely that the whole series started in 1936 or 1937. Looking at other five-digit Decca series, e.g. the 18000 series whose first numbers were recorded in 1939, it is a rather safe guess that the 23000 series started in 1939 or even later.

Look in to the Online Discographical Project; it has Caprice Viennois 6-15-1936 and Liebesfreud 6-17-1936 not 1939.

This was recorded in 1936 and entered here as released in that year. I don't know when the Decca 23000 'Personality Series' actually started, but I guess it was not before 1939, even though the first numbers in this series were recorded in earlier years, but in foreign countries where they also may have been released earlier (e.g. the 1935 recordings of the Quintet of the Hot Club of France). From Decca 23062 on, numbers in this series were generally also recorded in 1939 or later. It also seems that some other five-digit Decca series started around this time.

Hence I have corrected the release year to 1939, in the hope that someone can confirm or disprove my guess.
